Mont Blanc - Faustin

As a family with older kids, we skied on New Years day (& 2nd) after a long stretch of warm rainy weather over Christmas time. There was a limited number of runs open, with most black (and others) on the main hill and all of the north hill runs ('Blanc Nord') closed. Many of the steeper runs still open would be scraped down to hard-packed surface early in the day, but with a bit more snow plus what they made overnight, the second day was a little better. The lift prices (bought in advance online) was the main reason we chose this hill over Tremblant. Would like to try it again when there has been more snow and more runs open since we pretty well exhausted our skiing on what was open for our two days there. Lodges for lunch were busy but nice.

This time I am happy to be wrong.
Despite the many positive reviews, in the back of my mind I felt this would be another typical tourist oriented "dumb down" version of the true thing. Nothing like that.
We booked the Forest trail and it was a blast. Shuttle ride was about 30 mins but Matt the driver was very nice and knowledgable and made the drive feel much shorter.
The dogs are beautiful and from the moment we were asked by the staff to handle them you know this will be nothing like I had expected.
It might be a little exhausting at times, since you get to guide the sled guided by the dogs, but the scenery was something out of Narnia. Coming from warm South Florida this was quite a treat to our eyes and senses.
No one in our group of ten, including demanding teenagers, came out disappointed.

Went to Mont Tremblant yesterday and had a wonderful time. The snow conditions were excellent- mostly groomed hard packed snow with - and the lift lines were more than acceptable for a weekday (under 10 minutes).
If your party is small and the lines are long consider going into the singles line and you’ll ski faster. There are runs for all tastes and please take a lesson or two of you are just starting out.
I always park on the North side (there are most of the services you need there including rentals) just remember where you parked when it gets to the last run of the day. The rental guy helped us get back on the slopes - thanx!!
A day trip from Montréal is doable and there are many choices for accommodations on the hill or nearby.
Costco sells discounted tickets which allow you to head right to the lifts when you arrive.
Enjoy!!

Kanatha-Aki

Reviewed By Cathy L - Kennebunk, Maine

Chose the 1.5 hour horseback riding experience through the Mont Tremblant Activity Center and the experience was so much more than expected. The trail ride was peaceful and beautiful. The surrounding area is nature at its best. While there, plan some time to learn more about Kanatha-Aki, and make sure to spend some time with Stephane, the owner of the property to learn about the care of the animals and the history of the land. There are beautiful hand-made dreamcatchers for sale in the office....there is a story for each one. This is definitely an experience to remember.

Royal Laurentien Golf

Reviewed By ManonSimard-Canada - Chelsea, Canada

Wow… what a beautiful par-71 course! If you think it could be an easy course, you couldn’t be more wrong! In fact, this golf course is quite challenging with a few bunkers, water areas and uneven greens! If you are a good player, then you will be definitely practicing your technique on the greens. There are also five teeing greens and the ladies have a fairly good advantage on most holes. I actually find that for some of them… the advantage given might be a bit too stretched and you may decide to start from the green. But of course, this course is for players of all levels. The fairways are beautifully maintained with stunning views, no matter the hole you’re playing. The Club House or Pavilion is facing the beautiful Lake and is surrounded by Waterfalls, flower arrangements, and a view at a few of the on-site available cottages. The site is so beautiful that not only will you enjoy playing a game there, but you will also want to take a few photos of the area, just like we did. You can walk the course if you want, but there are some holes where the distance to get to the next one might be better for you if walking is not your thing. We normally walk but our special included the on-site cottage (see my review for it) with complete breakfast as well as the golf, cart and driving range for 99$ per person per night. So, we did not say no to the cart! The longest hole is #12, a par-5 of 425 yards for the ladies (red tee off) and 482 for the men (white tee off). It starts very widely but as it gets closer to the green, it narrows and is surrounded by water. This is certainly one that I found quite challenging. The par-3 that I find the most challenging for men is hole #17. Although most could probably get the ball on the green, the fairway is very narrow with water on the left side and all around the green. If you have a tendency of driving to the left, then you might increase your chance of losing your ball in the water. Being a left-handed player, I was actually glad my tee-off was located much closer to the green. Once on the green, putting is not too bad. The 6th hole has a nice waterfall on the left side and unfortunately, this is where I had sent my ball twice. As for practicing your technique to get the ball out of the sand, I definitely think that hole #8, a par-4 with 10 bunkers and a narrow fairway, was doing the job! On some of the holes, you will also find clocks to guide you on your playing time. This is great. There are two driving ranges: one on natural ground and a small one on synthetic ground. During our visit, the one on natural ground was closed and although the other one is well set up, the only disappointment is that the driving spots are too close to each other’s (we could not drive one beside the other) and also too close to the path located behind them for you to access your driving spot. So, every time someone arrives for driving, you simply need to let them go through. The overall design of this 6,800-yard golf course is incredible. And what’s even more remarkable is the great vision of the owner, Gabriel Ménard, and his history to make it happen… a well explained reality on their website. This business is a family business and it shows. Staff has pride for working there and we had an opportunity to chat with Isabelle, Mr. Ménard’s daughter, who was very proud of the hard work put by her family to achieve her dad’s dream. Local players are also very friendly. We were actually teamed up with Michel and Olivier on our first day and we had a great time. Certainly a great golf course to discover if you haven’t yet played there! We played it on October 7 and 8, 2015 and we’ll be playing again for sure!

Le Ranch Mont-Tremblant

Reviewed By Craig E

Sunday August 29 - I took my 2 10 year old daughters for a one hour guided horseback ride and it was wonderful. The Ranch estate was clean and well maintained with stables, paddocks and rustic original buildings. There were beautiful horses, some foals and ponies - all looking very healthy. The ride itself was perfect for my 2 young girls - gentle walking on a mix wide trail through the Forests and across a couple of small streams. The horses were full sized, not ponies, and very well behaved, although a bit sluggish - which was fine for us. Our guide, Camille, was really pleasant, professional and genuinely happy to field constant questions from my 10 year old girls who took a shine to her instantly.
Highly recommended for families with kids who want a safe gentle experience..

Awesome activity for a family looking for a little fun. Staff very welcoming, friendly and safe. Was there with our 10 and 12 yrs old boys. Highlight of their trip. They adjust the karts to age and skill so it's safe for kids and beginners. With how much everything costs to do in Mont-Tremblant, it's a very good value for your money.

Had a wonderfully fun time playing paintball with my 16 and 20-year-old kids. The equipment given by the site is well-maintained and effective - both in shooting others and in protecting you. The two play-sites on which we played were sufficiently large and with a diverse selection of hiding places to make it a truly challenging and fun competition. The person monitoring us was strict with safety while being personable. It was a blast.

Ski de Fond Mont-Tremblant

Reviewed By PA_Truffle - Camp Hill, Pennsylvania

The Domaine St. Bernard is wonderful year-round, but because the heading is Ski de Fond Mont-Tremblant, I'll concentrate on winter. Whether you're an experienced cross-country skier or not, Domaine St. Bernard is worth a try. It is beautiful and quiet and as others have mentioned, it has a nice cafe on site. I am not much of a cross-country skier, so I scheduled a lesson and it was incredibly helpful and well-priced. And the area itself is just gorgeous.
In the summer, it's a quick bike ride from the resort and it offers unpaved bike trails from beginner to expert level. Or just walking trails. And a lake.
