Lane Cove National Park

Reviewed By Trangie - St Clair, Australia

We reserved the Commandment Rock picnic area for a birthday party. It has a huge undercover area with lots of benches and tables. There is a basic wood barbecue and no electricity so it’s better to bring all your food. The toilets are only about 50 meters away. The area has a car park and a large grassy area for kids to run around. We had a great time even when it started to rain as the covered area is so big.

Don't go near Macquarie Centre in the school holidays. Go during the week. There is everything you could possibly want to buy or eat, but parking is a nightmare and so is Seating for any of the many take away food places. Event Cinemas are also there if you fancy going to the movies. If you leave enough time to find parking and don't mind waiting a bit to find Seating, you will really enjoy all that Macquarie has to offer

Ryde Aquatic Leisure Centre

Reviewed By parcelandpeony

This is a great aquatic centre that features several pools including a shallow toddler pool, and wave pool (waves do not seem to be on during weekdays, however). There are a couple water slides, a lazy river section, and a couple other fun water features. There is a large parking lot but if you find it full on a particularly hot day, there is free street parking to be found within 5 minutes walking distance. There is a cafe inside the aquatic centre which I wouldn't rate as stellar, but it's better than nothing and most things taste good when you're worn out from a good swim. Plenty of hot water showers and change rooms, lockers, etc.

Kissing Point Park

Park is best for smaller children. It is a small park and is not fenced. There are barbecues here and it is a lovely place to walk along Parramatta River. The rivercat wharf is also close. Carpark is next to the park. You could get a takeaway coffee at Putney and then come here.

Yamble Reserve

Reviewed By Copthat1 - Sydney, Australia

Went here for a 1 Year Old birthday celebration. There are plenty of areas within the park to set up for your own personal get together. There are covered Cabanas to sit under and open areas to kick a ball around etc. There is a large enclosed soft fall play area for the kids as well with a whole variety of activities within.
You cannot reserve any of the covered seated areas so it is first in gets the spot. With ours, we had someone arrive at 6am to ensure we had the spot for a 10.30am start. Not all areas are like this and you can turn up at anytime, but if you want to guarantee an area, then get there early.
