We had a great time even though the whales didn't come out to play. We were warned though that being the end of season this would be the case. Beautiful yacht and able to wander freely around her. We managed to see a couple of whales which made the trip well worth it. As for skipper and owner Darrl what can I say? Very informative great sense of humour and a great bloke.
People next whale season book with Darryl and avoid crowds.

Well priced for what you get .. $450 inclusive shared between however many are on (up to 12)
Boat is well kept and well appointed with an excellent sound system that supports bluetooth, quality s/s bbq, toilet, sink, large esky and basic necessities.
Service is excellent, instructions and guidelines are covered quickly and simply
Could do with a table but overall an excellent time :)

There’s always something going on here, a new shop or product demonstrations, or pop-up specialties...renovations, car park expansions, all kinds of things to make this Centre more than just a bunch of local shops.
You’ll find the usual chain stores here, and also some independents. Travel agents, newsagents, greengrocers, butchers, poultry, pharmacy, gift shops, fashion, optometrists and audiologists, doctors, pathologists, banks, post office, florists, fresh food of all kinds, kitchen gadgets... you can find almost anything you’re looking for, any day of the week.
There’s a public transport hub too, with buses and taxis.
The Tavern is popular, especially after hours.
Across the road are the Library and sports fields.
Honestly I’m here maybe three times each week. And I still learn something new every visit!
Great bargains at Fruita Bella Tuesday and Wednesday; Woolies will even bake you custom cakes etc.

A very reliable, friendly and efficient transport service for a private transfer . Vehicles were clean, equipped with car seats and drivers were great. Especially our driver on the way back who we had a great chat with.
It makes travelling that much easier especially with kids!
Highly recommend and will use again.

Chose this island as close to home only 30 mins flight time. We were not disappointed a true eco resort. Accomodation was a garden room, not large but had queen bed and 2 bunks and wardrobe. Also fridge shower and toilet. Bed was fine lots pillows and blankets. Strong winds reduced snorkel time but managed to get 3 days in and suggest a 5 or 7 day stay just in case. Lots of Manta Rays some sharks,turtles and lots of large fish. Snorkelling in the southern lagoon good when winds are up or west coast for the real action. Lots of fun things to do during the stay, recommend the snorkel tour. Food was plentiful and great meals, lunch available for 26 dollars or buy from the cafe. Prices were reasonable. This is not a Lizard Island stay but we loved it as and will be making a return journey

This 3-4h adventure is an absolute personalised experience on a small vessel with a maximum of 8 participants. The spectators can look forward to closer and longer encounters as humpback whales do not feel intimated by a smaller vessel. The outer tubes of our semi inflatable vessel are only 50cm above the water surface which even allows to submerge your water proof camera on passing whales.
