Gorgeous place with incredibly serene atmosphere. Went there in the early afternoon, spent around three hours walking around Visited in May, so some areas were closed to the nesting, which was fine anyway, as there is plenty of birds to watch. Easy walking, well maintained paths. There is a small refreshment stall at the entrance of the park, which will be the only place where you can get some snacks, water, or a burger.

Visited Roses in May and saw this structure so went to have a look. There was a poster on the wall advertising a Tom Jones concert coming in July. As my OH is a great fan we bought tickets on the spot.
The setting was brilliant. The old walls magnificent and the show itself stunning set as it was in this place. Well worth a visit even if Tom Jones isn't singing!

Amazing views along the Mediterranean. We hiked from the lighthouse to Almadrava and loved every minute. Take water with you and a towel and swimsuit.

Not cheap, but really worth it. Helpful and friendly staff, clean water park, queues managed very well. Food was good quality (for 'fast food') and not too expensive. Recommended

Cala Monjoi is a 15-20 minute drive out of Roses, going east. The road is not for the faint-hearted, as there are a few blind bends, and steep drops to the side of the unfenced road. But it's worth the drive, as it's a very pleasant relaxing place to be, a shingle beach with the clear water shelving quite quickly.

We went on our electric bikes from Roses campsite and followed the route to the first point of interest then kept on going following the coast road up and around until it ran out. It's a stunning way to see the hills, menhirs and dolmens. Everything is well signed and there are new information boards to give you basic dates and information.
We kept to the road as our bikes weren't up to the alternative rougher terrain route but with a mountain bike I think the route would have been even better.

This is a very nice, clean, safe. beach. It has a very good restaurant at one end and just across the road are a selection of cafes, shops and restaurants.
There are boats and water slides for hire, sun loungers. parasols, and just about everything you need for the beach.
So why only three stars?
Parking.
It is absolutely impossible. Except it isn't if you know. But you won't know because there are no parking notices.
You can park easily. There is a large car park in one of the roads above the beach. The reason you can always park there is because only the locals know its there.
Now you know - have a nice time.

Took my two boys 10 and 8 .. They had to go on the smaller track which is 8.5 euros for 7 mins .. Sounds short but it was adequate time for them .. Good little circuit and they loved it .. I couldn't resist and had a go on the big circuit .. 10 euro for 7 mins again but I was knackered after that .. Fast karts, good track .. Nice coffee too .. Very pleasant service ..

We went on an 9p.m. evening tour with a guide dressed as Lord Cochrane who was commander of the British force that occupied the fortress until it was put under siege and more or less destroyed by the French in 1808 - the Napoleonic era.
The fortress itself was built in a strategic position three centuries earlier and consequently has extensive views over the surrounding bay but the building itself has been heavily reconstructed with a lot of concrete so is not that evocative. It does has a very interesting history however and the guided tour was excellent - including a glass of Cava (or scotch whisky if you want to join Lorch Cochrane...). Being in the evening as well gave it it's own atmosphere.
There are various tours you can go on which I'm sure are equally as interesting but you may need to understand Spanish, French or Catalan to get the best from them.
