May 4, 2022 Jeremy Dunfee

Rock Hill, the largest city in South Carolina's York County, is a charming college town, with the campus of Winthrop University making up one of its five historic districts. The surrounding area of York County is home to the Carowinds amusement park, an entertainment destination so large that it spans two states. The York County Library hosts the annual Patchwork Tales Storytelling Festival, featuring musicians, storytellers, and artists from all over the world.

Our actual visit date was Feb 2020. It was me and my 8 ur old nephew. We had a blast! For a tiny little county museum it has a lot of stuff. It’s a great place to spend the afternoon.

Main Street Children's Museum

The Main Street Children’s Museum suffered extensive water damage when a main sprinkler line ruptured in a privately-owned space above the museum area. Unfortunately, very little of the interior - including the exhibits - may be salvaged. Our team is working diligently to bring this spectacular space back to life. Please know that it is near and dear to our hearts and we miss its special ambiance. Please visit us at the Museum of York County, located at 4621 Mt. Gallant Road where the children’s museum staff are providing regular programs, along with additional special experiences. Our smallest members may continue to enjoy interactive fun in an expanded early learning space at this location. As additional information is available, we will update our website and social media.

Take my 45 year old Grandson at least a couple times a month. He loves all the activities there. There is nothing better than a free place for kids to play safely.
