Cantina San Giacomo

The Trabocchi Coast sea and the overlying hills make the landscape where San Giacomo Winery settles the best frame for the perfect exhibition of his mighty vineyards and for the influences the sea brings to its wines quality. By the regional peculiarities come the aromatic fragrances of the full-bodied Reds and the delicate notes of the Whites. These are the foundations on which stands the Winery and on which year after year, at each new harvest, the cellar-men, the agronomist and the oenologist rely with the aim of getting better and better products, optimizing production technologies and respecting the tradition. The Winery is composed by about two hundred members, with a wine growing area of three hundred acres, located in the territory of Rocca San Giovanni and surrounding municipalities, in the province of Chieti. The main part of the processed grapes is the white variety: Trebbiano d 'Abruzzo, Cococciola, Chardonnay, Moscato and Pecorino. The remaining part is red grape variety: mainly Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, and in smaller part Sangiovese and Merlot. Some years ago the winery achieved the coveted certification required to produce organic wine, encouraging their cultivation.
