Robe Beach

Great seaside town. Good cafes and restaurants - don’t forget to book they get busy during summer. You can order amazing fresh lobster at the pub if you tell them what size you want the day before your booking. Long beach is amazing - drive your car onto the beach and settle in for the day. The Main Street has a few women’s clothing and gift shops that meet retail therapy needs.

Wangolina

Wangolina is a family owned and operated boutique vineyard & producer located in the Mt Benson wine region of the Limestone Coast. From primary beginnings as cattle farmers, fifth generation Anita Goode along with her father John, planted vineyards in 1999, from which we now source a majority of the fruit for the wines we produce. Our Wine Room is located at the Wangolina property between Robe & Kingston. Originally Shearers Quarters, our Wine Room is now a modern space where we proudly show and taste our wines - 7 days a week. (With the exception of Christmas Day, Boxing Day & Good Friday.) Winter/Spring opening hours 11am - 4pm Summer/Autumn opening hours 11am - 5pm.

Our family of six called in to the Wangolina Winery unplanned and we are very glad that we did. Anita, our host, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and made us feel very welcome. Anita recommended the cheese flatbread for our children (which they loved) and tweaked the cheese platter to suit our needs. We enjoyed a wine tasting and then chose a bottle of wine to enjoy in the sunshine and beautifully kept grounds. We also chose a few bottle to take home with us. Highly recommended, as we loved our time spent at the Wangolina Winery.

Highly recommend a visit when in Robe. We had Guinness Pie which we rated highly, but the best was the Butter Chicken Pie. Both served with balsamic greens and a delicious chutney. Decaf and regular lattes were also highly rated. The shop has a lot of interesting items for sale. We couldn’t resist coming away with some coffee, chai and chocolate coffee beans. Would definitely return next time we are in Robe.

This memorial to fishermen lost at sea is very sympathetically done. Very interesting and really liked the design of it. Situated just at the entrance to the marina, be careful not to miss it.
