Just as you see in pictures of exotic beaches, with palm trees, beautiful white sand and turqoise water...add friendly locals and you got yourself a great tropical beach.

Pointe Bernache

Reviewed By hdforhotels - South Africa, null

Pointe Bernache (known simply as Bernache) is located to the North East of Mauritius it is close to the larger island of Ile d'Ambre (Amber Island) and is best reached from the villages of Grand Gaube or Poudre d'Or. An excursion on the Pirate ship, Le Bounty ads extra magic. It is not far from the 1744 shipwreck of the Saint Greran. It takes about half an hour, and when departing from Grand Gaube or Poudre d'Or, boats stay inside the reef. This is a good alternative when the rough sea does not allow a visit to the islands on the North. Enjoy spectacular views of the mountains and coast line of Mauritius. Bernache is flat and covered in pine trees. There is not much to see, but the swimming and snorkeling is well enjoyed. Rare species of birds of Mauritius are present. Tours can be arranged from hotels in the area by speed boat, catamaran or other means. Normally a BBQ lunch with a variety of drinks under the shade of the trees are included. Some tours will include a visit to the mangroves on Ile d Ambre. This is not to be missed when in Mauritius.

La Cuvette Public Beach

Reviewed By OfftheirP - Manchester, United Kingdom

We walked out of town around the headland and came to this fabulous area. It was on a Sunday and it appeared most of the locals had avoided the main beach in town and come to this one. It was packed and the atmosphere was amazing. The beach itself, although really small, is beautiful. Lovely sand and a calm sea with wonderful views. People had taken their small tents, tables and so on and were set up for the day. It was full of life and noise and music. There are changing facilities there, toilets and a big carpark. Great fun!

Bain Boeuf Public Beach

Beautiful beaches ideal for couples, if you walk toward pereybere as you come around the bend on the beach around 5pm you may find a man called Robert his boat is more there with his name and number. This man will take you to swim with turtles and he is a honest man at great prices. There is alot of construction happening sadly in bain boeuf and pavements can be dangerous due to poor quality and lack of lightning.
