A great little zoo with a wide variety of animals. We had our son's birthday party here and they got to feed a giraffe which was great! The staff member, Kyra (sp?) was so knowledgeable and patient with our small group of boys. Thank you!!

Dove Valley Vineyard and Winery is a busy operation. I was lucky to catch the attention of one of the owners in between bottling the current batch of apple wine and picking up that fourth generation member from school. The log cabin theme for the family homes and tasting room is rustic and comforting. The second generation member is an artist and responsible for the design of the wine labels. Truly a family affair. The tasting room is bright and furnished with comfortable chairs and sofas. The wines are very reasonably priced and ranged from dry to sweet. My preferences run to the dry so I managed to taste and go home with a case containing a crisp white wine from a Hungarian grape, a rose from the merlot, and a nice red blend of merlot and cabernet franc, among others. The property is easy to.locate on the main road just south of Rising Sun. I liked their Facebook page so I could keep up to date with the numerous special events that take place in the large hall, or outside in good weather. Happy to get home and relax with a glass of their cleverly named Maryland Merlot.
