Treat yourself to a little bit of Southwest Spanish history. The church built around 1600, though a bit run down is still a site to absorb. Walk the grounds, visit the cemetery, watch them make beautiful flowers out of paper or tortila's from scratch, buy some. Flowers are beautiful and the tortilla's are as authentic as they'll ever be, made right before your eyes.The entire surrounding area is beautiful and easy to find.

Richard Fray is an amazing bird watching guide for Southeast Arizona in the Tucson area. My wife and daughter spent two days with Richard exploring the species of the mountains and canyons in the Tucson area. They saw over 150 species of birds and enjoyed the amazing natural beauty of this area. Richard is a very flexible guide who adapts his guiding style to the client's. Besides the birds, he is highly knowledgeable of the area and its natural attractions. My wife and daughter had completed a number of bird watching trips, but this was by far the most amazing one. And they give a great amount of credit for this to Richard.

Tucked away in the rolling hills of southeastern Arizona is a hidden treasure.Patagonia Lake State Park was established in 1975 as a state park and is an ideal place to find whitetail deer roaming the hills and great blue herons walking the shoreline. The park offers a campground, beach, picnic area with ramadas, tables and grills, a creek trail, boat ramps, and a marina. The nearby Lakeside Market offers boat rentals and supplies. The campground overlooks the lake where anglers catch crappie, bass, bluegill, catfish, and trout. The park is popular for water skiing, fishing, camping, picnicking, and hiking. And the tracks of the New Mexico/Arizona railroad lie beneath the lake and remnants of the old historic line may be found at the Nature Conservancy in Patagonia. Hikers can stroll along the creek trail and see birds such as the canyon towhee, Inca dove, vermilion flycatcher, black vulture, and several species of hummingbirds.

An overgrown man made puddle surrounded by scrub. The hikes are naff, not well sign posted or maintained. Staff, especially at the marina, can be rude and ignorant, deliberately ignoring you and giving you wrong information. I cannot recommend this as a destination unless you are desperate to have your intelligence insulted.

Very nice little piece of history in the town of Tubac. You can spend maybe an hour here to get a history lesson then have lunch and do a little shopping in the town. This is a very nice recreation area in the Coronado National Forest near Nogales. To reach it, take exit 12 off I-19 for Ruby Rd. (AZ289) and follow it west about 9 miles into the scenic Pajarito Mountain Foothills. This is a well-maintained paved road. The lake fills Pena Blanca Canyon, so it is long and narrow, covering about 50 acres. It's surrounded by grassy hillsides and limestone rock formations. The elevation is 4000', so it can be cooler than the surrounding area and there is some different vegetation from the lower desert zones, including oak trees. Facilities include a campground, picnic areas, hiking trails, restrooms, fishing platforms and a boat ramp (motors 8HP or less). Most of the facilities are wheelchair accessible, including parking, restroom, fishing platforms, picnic area and paved walkways along the shore. There is no entrance fee but a valid Arizona license is required for fishing. We visited on a Friday morning in October and it was quiet and peaceful. This area gets very busy in summer, especially weekends and holidays, so plan your visit accordingly.

Well, where do I begin. This course may be in the worst shape of any course that we have ever golfed. I expected, from the pictures on their website, for it to be very nice. Especially since it is February, peak season for this part of the country. We were in for quite the shock. Just driving up to the course you knew something wasn't quite right. Didn't see any green anywhere. The tee boxes were beat up. The fairways were in very poor shape and just dirt in many spots. The greens were horrible. Chewed up and so gouged that you couldn't even putt. On the rare green where there was some green grass, it hadn't been mowed. We just played two putt on every green. We had heard from some people that this at one time had been a beautiful course but it apparently has fallen on some bad times. It looks like it hasn't seen water since the last glacier came through. We paid $29 for two (2) people which included cart. That should have ben the indicator right there. After playing, we felt we paid too much. It is going to take a long time to bring this course back.

I have been coming here for over 25 years. I always get Mexican vanilla for baking. The chipotle/ adobo sauce in a jar for tacos or chili beans. One or two spoonfuls really adds to the blend. Don t miss it.

My husband and I recently visited the Tubac Center for the Arts- My 2nd visit, his first. As before, The gallery exhibits were well worth seeing, well curated and hung. There are three or four rooms of different sizes that make up the gallery. During this visit I noticed that they also have a wonderful library well worth looking through if you are an art lover. Some of the at books were even signed by the arts. This is not to be missed in a town with many gift/galleries- this is the true gem in the area. As noted during my last review, the gift shop is also lovely.

The course is great ,the owners are great and we always have a great time playing Kino Springs..we come from Canada & out of all the course's we always start with Kino..Great and friendly owners...it is just plain fun to play thanks & always pass on good memories to friends...
