What to do and see in Rimini, Emilia-Romagna: The Best Sightseeing Tours

September 28, 2021 Roger Rusk

The biggest beach resort on the Adriatic Sea, Rimini is a favored Italian seaside holiday destination for Italians themselves. The city offers an impressive nine miles of beaches, though many of these have private access for the scores of hotels facing the shore. The old town, about a 15-minute walk inland, has many interesting sights, including the Arch of Augustus from 27 BC, and Tiberius Bridge from the early 1st century. Rimini also boasts many great restaurants and an energetic nightlife.

We had a great time on our walking tour, which turned out to be a private tour with just me and my husband. Our guide Marta was wonderful, so kind and knowledgeable and passionate about the art and history of Ravenna she shared with us. There were so many details we would not have seen without her. She was fun and easy to talk to, and did not mind when I stopped to take many, many photos. Thank you Marta!

I love a good walking tour! It's the first thing I like to do when arriving to town since it gets you oriented to the major history and then gives you ideas of stuff to see.. We packed so much into the tour. The Square, government buildings, sculpture, orthodox church and mosque - wow so cool, and lots of other little things we eyed up to go back and enjoy.. Rate this one an "A"!

10. La Romagna del Pirata - Self-Guided Tour on the places of Pantani 6days / 5nights

47042 Cesenatico, Province of Forlì-Cesena, Italy Bikelife

The territory around the hometown of Pantani might seem flat, from the Adriatic coast inland there seem to be no elevation meters and instead when you least expect it the hills sprout imposing, one after the other. east of Emilia Romagna and the Marches, who trained the Pirate for his deadly shots: via the bandana, his hands in the lower part of the handlebars, his gaze determined and shortly after the shot. Follow his way of telling opponents if you have the strength. Sea and mountains, different worlds, opposite. Solitude and beauty, nature and open spaces. Sea and mountains, two universes made of roads and pedals, sweat and frames, of men alone in command, of climbing and descending on two wheels. We will live the places and streets of Marco Pantani in his shining career. We will cycle on two of the climbs that have trained his legs, crossing wonderful territories in Romagna that has always been home to great champions.
