What to do and see in Reykjavik, Capital Region: The Best Fun Activities & Games

March 10, 2022 Karren Gelb

Reykjavik bears the distinction of being the world’s northernmost capital, and for many Icelandic visitors it also serves as a gateway to the rugged adventure options beyond. Recharge after outdoor pursuits in one of the many geothermal springs or luxurious indoor spas. We appreciate Reykjavik’s open-minded and energetic culture that includes a hip and internationally recognized music and arts scene, great food and notoriously "enthusiastic" nightlife.

This is a beautiful shop that has unique designs that truly shows the artists talent and eye for design. Some things were out of my price range but I found a beautiful tiny vase that I just had to take home. Thanks for the friendly service too.

My wife and I where on our honeymoon in Reykjavik and I wanted a few things to surprise her on the trip. I saw a link on facebook to the shop and had a few emails back and forth before booking (several weeks before). Good communication throughout. When we arrived and realised how close it was to everything in Reykjavik it was even better. We where welcomed in and within minutes looking like a king and queen from ancient times. The lady in the shop was amazing and dressed us up perfectly o look the part. We looked like something straight out of a TV show and the studio really helps get you in the right frame of mind. Couple this with dramatic Viking music and you're really in the mood for some pillaging!! The photos where amazing and whilst we are both camera shy we had a lot of fun posing and carrying various weapons to add to our attire. The finished product was beyond my expectation and has added to our whole experience of Iceland. Thanks alot Mink (and Carla) - Keep up the good work.

This pool is usually less busy than Sundhöll Reykjavíkur and Laugardalslaug. I recommend taking a dip in the cold one (4c-8c) than to the hottest one (42c), repeat a couple of times ????. As always, please remember to wash before entering the pools in Iceland ????.

Hydra Flotation Spa

Perfect for first arrival, late night, jet-lag, city break recharge or digital-detox. Come right from your flight or tour. No swimsuit required (as it is private rooms and baths) and feel free to store your belongings in the room with you if needed. Nowhere in Iceland does an experience like this occur naturally. Icelandic water warmed to body temperature - with Dead Sea / Epsom (Magnesium) Salts added to make up 30% of the volume of water causes the body to float weightlessly - allowing complete muscle relaxation and absorption of magnesium through the skin - resulting in ultimate recharge and rest into the next days. Optional darkness and complete quiet provide the perfect private place to recharge, regardless of weather or time of day. Effects are felt for days and are perfect for jet-lag, city break or recharge.

My favorite experience in Iceland! First off, the facilities were spotless and the location is only 12 mins walking distance from downtown! Second, I was so relaxed during my experience I fell asleep in the tank. The float lasts a little over an hour, leaving the last 15 mins to re-shower and redress yourself. I am magnesium deficient and have MS, and I was reluctant to try this afraid that the water temperature would send my body on the fritz, but it was perfect! When I left, my shoulders were down, my jaw was unclenched, and I had a perfect 4 hour nap! I’m recommending for everyone who I know that’s coming to Reykjavik and of course I’ll be back in the near future.
