What to do and see in Reno, Nevada (NV): The Best Things to do Good for Adrenaline Seekers

October 6, 2021 Florencio Paulino

Nevada's "other" gambling and resort town, Reno is located in the western part of the state near the California border. What the city lacks in glitz or reputation it more than makes up for in attractions and amenities. There are first-rate hotels, golf courses and casinos to rival its southern counterpart and, also like Las Vegas, Reno has become a popular destination for families. Galena Creek Park offers nature trails that even young children can navigate, plus organized educational events for families.

Every September at Stead Air Field are the National Championship Air Races. It is a MUST DO event, at least once in a lifetime. Aircraft racing one another right in front of you. Six different classes of airplanes. Four race courses. The airplanes are never out of your field of vision. Jets and Unlimited aircraft roar by at 400+ MPH! Great static displays to walk around. Go into the pits to see the racing planes and talk with the pilots.

An innovative take on escape rooms, enthusiasts and beginners alike will definitely enjoy Immersium! Our travel party came here for an escape room weekend in Reno - around eight rooms scheduled - Immersium was definitely one of the top! Staff was awesome, involved, and the gamemaster was on point. You can tell they cared for their creation, which is a twist on escape rooms in that we weren't trying to 'escape' the arena, rather we needed to solve puzzles, locks, and riddles to complete a storyline before time ran out. I appreciated the cleverness of some of the puzzles, definitely a challenge and a must on your list for an amazing time, especially if you're cruising Reno for escape room experiences.

Our family went for my grandson’s 8th birthday and we all couldn’t help laughing and smiling as we raced around the track, trying to pass each other. My grandson was so excited that he had lapped me twice! It was such a fun activity for kids and adults to share. The staff were all friendly and helpful, from those at the front desk to those working the go karts. They made sure we chose helmets that fit and also helped strap us in properly. We all can’t wait to go again! (The costs mounted up quickly, but if you become a yearly member, you do get discounts.)

This was our first time ever doing an escape room. This place was clean and the staff was great. Parking is super easy right above in the parking garage and elevator lets you out at the entrance. The clues were fun and made you think, the game master was always there to help with clues if needed (via walkie talkie). We had a blast and will definitely be going back. I recommend this place to anyone.
