While exploring Punxsutawney, we discovered this trail named Mahoning Shadow Trail. The road is quite flat, at least the path we walked on for several miles and it is perfect for bikers, runners and people like us who like to walk. The Mahoning Creek follows this path for miles on end. Someone told us that it was 15 miles long. Not bad! While walking there I became quite intrigued. I saw holes on the top of the hill. They were all the same circumference. That was strange! It looked like some sawdust was filling the hole. I also saw some train wagons that could carry coal. Then I found an article called "The Coke Ovens." There used to be 50 of them. This area used to be a coal field, supposedly the largest one in Pennsylvania. Seven of these series of mines were located on this very trail. They were the most productive. The mystery was resolved. Boy, I am starting to walk in the steps of Sherlock Holmes! We continued walking and enjoying nature. It was a splendid day and we wanted to enjoy the Spring weather. I truly enjoyed this trek. Quite worthwhile!

Going to Gobbler's Knob has been on my bucket list for a long time.Well,the dream came true on 02/02/2020!! It was so much fun!! So well organized! Everyone was so friendly! It was a wonderful time.. a dream come true!

This attraction is a nice place for all ages. We took our two youngest grandchildren, ages 8 & 11 for entertainment and education. The center is complying with the COVID restrictions.

We totally enjoyed watching Phil from the comfort of the public library. They also have a window where you can watch him while standing on the sidewalk.
