Elias was our assigned photographer he understood our needs perfectly and worked with us very well. He took the most amazing pictures of my daughter. Even though I did not want my own picture taken he also convinced me of that. Many locations are closed in Morocco currently because of covid but we found many beautiful alternate locations instead. There is so much beauty in Marrakech you will definitely want to document it with this group. Pictures were delivered to us two days later while we were still on vacation. I asked for a few edits and the group was very cooperative in providing them.

We rented e-bikes because we were staying up on the Gianicolo. The company also has road bikes and hybrids for rent. We rode all over the old part of town for 3 days: Trastevere; Campus Martius; Palatino/Campidoglio; Vatican; the Monti; then up north to the Foro Italico. Not great distances, but many wonderful hours, savoring Rome in a new way. We were fortunate to be doing this over the long Easter weekend, with severely reduced traffic. And we benefited from the many kms of bike lanes Rome is adding (many more to come!). The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They spoke enough English for this reviewer, with his paltry Italian. Bike rentals include helmets, chains, and in the case of the e-bikes, chargers. Check them out!

Our guide, Nicolette, was so knowledgeable and fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the 3-hour tour. I was sad when it was over. My 11 and 13 yr old liked it too but it was a little long for them, not at the fault of the guide one bit, just their age.

The monument was built by emperor Hadrian (117-138 AD) together with the Aelius bridge in front of it to become a mausoleum for himself and for his successors. In the course of centuries it became the defensive rampart of the Vatican City, the site of a garrison, a prison, but also the offices of the Vatican Treasury and Archive. Today the interior of the castle can be visited with its seventeenth century rich frescoed halls (Hall of Apollo, Hall of Paolina decorated with the Stories of Alexander the Great, Hall of Perseus with episode of the myth of the Greek hero, Room of Amore and Psiche), the prisons, the collection of antique arms, the painting gallery (with works by Carlo Crivelli, Luca Signorelli, and Dosso Dossi), the collection of ancient marbles, ceramics, and sculptures. The terrace offers one of the best panoramic views of the Historical Center.

I’m Roman, I was born here and I live here. I was quite skeptical when I friend of mine literally dragged me to this guided tour of the main touristic spots in the center of Rome. We spent 3 hours between Colosseum and Campidoglio. Damn!! It was great. Vincenzo is a Tour Guide and a storyteller at the same time. He is professional but his tale, full of details and curiosities, will really involve you and bring you back in the Ancient Rome. I do really recommend it.

The Borghese Gallery is an amazing Roman jewel. Someone recommended it and we were able to add this to our time in Rome. Taking a tour was the best choice as the stories behind the art and the hidden info on the creation of the art are so important to understanding what took place as it was collected. While I had to choose a 2020 date, our tour was in October 2019 so there was no pandemic and no need for masks!

Castel Sant’Angelo is a unique monument on its own. However, only with an expert, English-speaking guide, you can deeply get the understanding of the singularity of the place. The Castle, besides its multi-layered structure and complex history, is filled with frescoes, paintings and decorations from the Renaissance, when the rediscovery of classical philosophy, literature and art occurred. The Classical values and ideas are reinterpreted under a new Christian light: the pagan elements are no more in contrast with the Christian beliefs, and are instead promoted, exalted and overlaid in this new bond where ancient and present, pagan and Christian, sacred and profane coexist in a new dimension. Castel Sant’Angelo is a magic place full of Renaissance artworks, rich in references, symbolism and fascinating tales from the antiquity, as to glorify the Pope, the Papacy and the Christian culture. Take the opportunity to grasp the true uniqueness of Castel Sant’Angelo.
