Pitars

The Pittaro brothers, the Pitars, are a descent of master wine makers who had been producing excellent wines ever since 1510. The Pitars world is a small ancient world, rich of the true values of the Friulian tradition and of the passionate care that characterizes every step and every detail of the complex winemaking process. This is made in a technologically advanced winery with highly specialized wine-making system, witness to an agro-technique evolution of exceptional standing. The vineyards, cultivated with care for a low-yield per hectare, stretch out perfectly between the provinces of Udine and Pordenone, in the precious "Friuli" D.O.C. land. Here you can surprisingly discover the unexpected generosity of nature, with the richest vines being allowed to take root and grow from the stony soil.

We visited Pitars for a tour and wine tasting, and we were thrilled by the experience we had. Our host, Deborah, was extremely well informed, friendly, and her English was perfect. We had the opportunity to taste 8 wines, including 2 special reserve wines, for only €8 per person. The tasting room was beautiful, as was the rest of the venue. We felt no pressure to buy any wine after the tour, however the wine was so excellent, we decided to buy a few cases to be shipped to our home in England. I cannot recommend the experience highly enough, a must visit in the region.

I Magredi
