The province of Ogliastra (Italian: provincia dell'Ogliastra [proˈvintʃa delloʎˈʎastra], Sardinian: provìntzia de s'Ogiastra) was a province in eastern Sardinia, Italy. Ogliastra was the most mountainous province in Sardinia. With only some 57,642 inhabitants, it was also the least populous province of Italy. The province had a population density of 31.08 inhabitants per square kilometer and the president of the province was Bruno Pilia. It corresponded roughly to the medieval Giudicato of Agugliastra. Our Gommone skipper was Giorgio. Just lovely. He told us his honest opinion of which beaches were better (and he was so right!) and where we should swim. He even recommended one of his favorite beaches and a trek we should do during our stay (we did both, and he was right on with both! just magical places). The charming manager also followed up at the end to make sure we had a good trip. It made the quality of our trip so much better. Thank you!!

We were on Sardinia in autumn with the family and I was looking for a place to rent a road bike, as I wanted to ride a bit. It was hard to find a place which was not either top north or south of Sardinia, as we stayed next to Bari Sardo. With a bit of luck I found this lovely venue - it's run by a couple who are passionate bikers (both, road bike and mountain bike), and next to running their own Agriturismo, they rent bikes. It's all solid equipment which they acquired over the years, so don't expect brand new, highly polished bikes. But you can expect high quality, excellent maintained gear, expert advise and super friendly and uncomplicated service. ;)
