Visited this lovely shop in Matera. Was thrilled to purchase a wonderful gift for my sister. It is the perfect souvenir from this ancient city - a bread stamp that was used in the communal ovens of Matera. The workmanship and quality of wood is outstanding. The best part is that the stamps can be personalized on the spot with two initials. Thus, the stamp is a beautiful decorative piece to display, but also a great gift for any bread bakers you may know. Mr. and Mrs. Mancini were very warm and helpful in explaining this ancient art form. I highly recommend a visit. Check out their site: timbridelpane.it

I was in Matera recently and I wandered by accident in this shop. I was sold immediately! The cosy shop was filled with original hand made art, jewelry, decoration,... On top of that we were greeted warmly by the owner and got talking for quite a while. So I would recommand everybody who is in Matera to go and visit. You won't regret it!!!
