when the need to stay away from noisy cities makes you feel you need a break, a walk on the rustic forest road of this place is what you will need to recharge your batteries with positive energy. All the way you will have amazing views. Unfortunately, the grotto is not fully opened because of stairs that need restructuring.

Cantina Sant'Andrea Azienda Agricola

Reviewed By lpMaggi713 - Baltimore, United States

As part of our jaunt into the Italian countryside, our friend took us to her favorite winery. This is a family owned and operated winery. Their roots go back to 1850. The family Pandolfo has always produced wines and today the fifth generation carries on that tradition. The vineyards, production facility and outlet store are located at Borgo Vodice on Via del Renibbio Podere. Just follow the botte (barrel) signs along regional road 148 (Pontina) and you’ll be there. The Cantina was so inviting. The shop offered lots of bottled wines and wine that could be purchased out of the barrels. They offer tastings, so you can try something before you commit to buying it. We were thrilled to be able to see this. After purchasing some wine, we were on to another adventure.

Ponza Island

Lovely Island, easy to get to from the Italian mainland.

Reviewed By Robrooster

When planning our Italian holiday, a native Italian family friend recommended this place to visit. And it didn't disappoint. You need to catch a ferry from the mainland (in Formia or Anzio) to the Island and once you're there, everything is easily accessible by foot. There are plenty of bakeries, cafes, restaurants, shops and activities to keep you busy day and night, for all ages. A must do, and one of our best days there, is to hire a self drive boat and explore the Island, stopping at numerous locations along the way for a swim in some of the cleanest and clearest water I have seen. Simply superb. We used Asterix boat hire located along the main beach area who were well priced and have good advice on where the best spots were. Boat comes with a cooler and ice for your food and drinks. On your return, be sure to relax at one of the many bars along the water that offer apperitives and snacks while enjoying the beautiful sunset. A visit to this island will not disappoint.

Porto di Sperlonga

The first dock in Sperlonga was built to meet the needs of local fishermen and boaters. Over the years the tourist and recreational function has become prevalent, thanks to the quality of the marine waters, the beauty of the coast (which includes the Regional Park of the Ulysses Riviera) and the proximity of the Pontine islands. A breakwater pier, which extends for 200 m, and a jetty with a curvilinear extension delimit two basins separated by a central arm, with a total surface of 19,000 m2. Two hydraulic connections between the basins and the supply of fresh water, coming from the nearby springs, ensure an effective water recirculation in the two basins. Traits of the docks are reserved for professional fishermen, boats of the Coast Guard and the mooring of boats in transit. The docks and floating docks, the latter paved in wooden planks, are equipped with turrets for the distribution of electricity, drinking water and washing water, to service the parked boats.
