Museo del Ferrocarril

This place is amazing. There is so much to see here, with beautifully restored railway carriages, engines, buses and trams, fascinating displays of machine tools, uniforms and station clocks. You get an idea of how much time and care has been put into the restorations when you see the older engines and carriages out on the line awaiting their own TCL. We were keen to try the ride on the steam train, but when we went on November 27th we learned that the last date for a train ride was November 3rd. However, the friendly and very helpful staff told us that next day there was to be a large organised visit and a train journey had been arranged for that group, and if we wished to come back then, we could tag along. So we went back on the 28th and had an absolutely brilliant day. As well as the incredible steam train ride, we also had a ride on an old tram and were given a demonstration of the machine tools in action. It was a truly memorable experience and I would not have missed it for the world. And the price is unbelievable - 6€ each! ( without the train ride it would have only been 3€). Don't miss it!
