Santuario di San Michele Arcangelo

We were travelling from Naples to Monte Gargano, so we made a stop in Monte Sant'Angelo to see this wonderful church. It looks like a common church from outside, but the interior is really something you can't see often. So don't miss it if you are nearby.

This is a beautiful promenade along the coast/beach line of Viesta. Lots of photo spots as you walk. You can stop and enjoy a coffee or gelato along your way. Make sure to take a promenade at night as well, beautiful if the moon is out as well.

Peschici centro storico

Reviewed By Bandit-One - Lucerne, Switzerland

When in Puglia Peschici is a town you shouldn't miss out on. Ok, Puglia has so many wonderful spots. But this is one of the very top. It's a beautiful white-washed old town, sitting on top of a cliff, just by the ocean. The Historic Center is pretty compact, it's an easy stroll. Some streets are cobbled, so be aware of that in case you have a wheelchair or a stroller. Of course you can't drive into the Historic Center, so you drop your car in the new part of town. There are several blue zones with (limited) free parking. But these fill up fast. There are two bigger parking lots (prepaid meter) on Via Monte Santo, south of the Center, but still in walking distance. The Center starts at the Torre Del Ponte, on a smaller square. The Via Roma is the main drag leading through the Centro Storico. Lined with countless restaurants, cafes, souvenir shops, arts & craft shops and more. Via Colombo has some of these too, but less in numbers. Be sure to check on some side streets as well (like the Via Forno). The Piazza de Popolo is a good place to sit down and have a drink or a meal. And watch the world go by. Try "La Taverna". Good food for great prices. The Castello Medioevale sits a the northern end of town, on top of the cliff. That's as far as you go. From here you could go down to the small harbour and the beach. The town is just a sight by itself. It's nice to wander around this small center. Really feels like Greece at times. The style, the colours. It's such a bright, happy and lively place to be.

Santuario Padre Pio

Reviewed By Andrian_pong2x - London, United Kingdom

I have stayed on a hotel just a very near walking distance to the Sanctuary and Shrine of St. Padre Pio for two nights. And visiting San Giovanni Rotondo to see St. Pio has been part of my Catholic bucket list ever since when I was introduced to this saint ever since I was a young boy. This trip from London to Italy was one of those near spontaneous decision of mine. Even though it took me like three to two weeks in preparation. It was good to research the accessibility of San Giovanni Rotondo in advance prior to one's visit. As I what I found out there are no direct train or plane rides from London to this lovely town. So making Rome as my initial base then taking a Trenitalia train to Foggia was the usual advice if one does not want a long drive. From Foggia to San Giovanni Rotondo was to be done via a nearly one hour bus ride. Very helpful in advance indeed to research how to ride the Italian Trains with their designated train carriages and how to locate them; knowing that the train station in Foggia is just near the bus station is one thing, but locating where to purchase the bus ticket is another tricky aspect: Not at the bus station but rather at a Tobacco Shop across the station. It helps indeed to research these travelling issues not only via books but through the internet, and watching travel vloggers help as well to visualise the area and get good advice from them. Being there at San Giovanni Rotondo, the place may be very laid-back, however even though the locals may be able to speak basic English, they are extremely helpful. For first time pilgrims or those travelling alone, it is note-worthy to check-in first at the Pilgrims Office at the Sanctuary. They are impressively helpful in advising you how to visit the Sanctuary or book you on an available pilgrims tour. Once you are there at the Sanctuary immerse yourself about the life of Saint Padre Pio and have that moment to internally speak to God, this place is just so divinely special.

Chiesa di San Pio

Reviewed By Breindeldad - Milan, Italy

Coming from Milan, it took us 9 hours, there are toad repairs in Molise and some part of Foggia, the place offer a peaceful and serene atmosphere. They have different churches within the compound and each one possesses different beauty and style. We also went on the crypt of Padre Pio, the place has a feel of and vibe of a holy place and it’s surreal. We hope that we come back in the near future. A must for all devotees of Padre Pio.

Baia delle Zagare

Reviewed By 396hugop - Ortisei, Italy

The view coming down the stairs is awesome When you arrive to the beach turn at the right and you will be in the free beach without paying and you will be directly undrr the rocks. You can swim to the Faraglioni and the sensation will be great. P.s.: at the entrance at the hotel they will do as everyone must pay to go to the beach. But considering that there is the free public beach in my eyes they are not allowed to give this information only for the sake of the turnover of the both hotels up over the beach
