Definitely the number 1 tourist attraction in Trani. The exterior is impressive, a massive lime stone structure along the sea coast. The church had been rebuilt, and expanded over the centuries. No photographs were allowed inside the church. The interior was fairly simple.

Very easy to easy by car. You can enjoy a visit to the museum in the city center or go to the factory to buy some dragees. What can I say to describe the flavour, the colour and the taste of these sweet jewels? Just try them! In Puglia we usually eat these "confetti" during the Carnival period when you can find them in every bars which have a special irresistable smell!

is a really interesting impressionist painter. Worth a visit. There are interesting pictures of Parisian society in the nineteenth century. There is a part of the museum that explains the historical context.

A lovely building, too bad you can't take a picture of the entire facade without a special lens. The Cathedral is large and cavernous. It's worth the 15-30 minutes visit.

Steps away from trani marina, a wonderful park to rest. Alongside adriatic sea, just seat and watch the sea, the people coming there. I liked also sculptures by the sea.

this is a great way to spend an hour or two in Barletta. Don't be put off by the woman who has to unlock the upper floor of the museum for you. she obviously does not enjoy her job and sighs and follows you around like a puppy while you look around. I was the only one in the place, but I knew that if I just stuck to my guns and took my time, she would eventually get tired, and find a chair to park herself in, which is exactly what happened. She needs other work! Other than that, though, it is wonderful to be able to explore the fortress, and take in the incredible coastline, and cityscape that surround it.

I showed some foreign clients the Salinas di Margherita di Savoia, the day before we ate the asparagus of the Salinas at the Galantino restaurant In Bisceglie. It's a pity there was written nothing about they Salinas, no explanation about the salt production, nothing at all. The view of the salt field is magnificent. At least they could tell a story about it.
But through the salt fields there is bicycle path from somewhere to nowhere. Italians are very good spending money from others (tax payers) but they have problem to earn money.

We spent the nite in Trani and walked along the port on the Promenade after breakfast. It is very scenic with lots of fishing boats tied up, restaurants and cafes all the sea and we were there for a special holy day with the fleet coming in to daytime fireworks and transporting a holy crucifix around the port to the Cathedral.

A remarkable location on a hilltop with views for miles. Very well restored. Atmospheric. The minimum signage is a little disappointing, though there is more for Italian speakers. The walk from the parking area is very pleasant, less than 10 minutes, so one need not use the shuttle bus. The charge toilets are designed to take advantage of a captive audience. More could be done to improve information for visitors. An audio guide is available, but the place cries out for a good video introduction to put the castle in its setting and period.
