Rogue River Gorge Viewpoint

Reviewed By Ernie S - Orange County, California

While staying in a cabin at Union Creek Resort just across the highway the innkeepers told me that I could get some nice views of the Rogue River just across the street.
After checking in I headed over just to check out the views, not expecting to see much. After all, how many great wilderness views do you get right by your hotel?
Wow, was I surprised. This is a fabulous spot to begin to enjoy the wild and wonderful Rogue. The river absolutely roars through this gorge. At points the rocky cliffs squeeze down and the water explodes through the narrow gaps.
I spent about an hour just soaking in this great spot and as I walked back to my cabin I felt a bit sad at all the tourists driving past, not knowing what they were missing just a short walk away.

Natural Bridge Viewpoint

Reviewed By Projournalist - Delaware

Don't miss this stop along the road to Crater Lake. Here's where a rushing and powerful Rogue River disappears into a tube of lava, then emerges to continue down the mountain. It's a geological curiosity explained skillfully with well-placed diagrams and signs along a perfectly designed, paved path with right-up-close overlooks from a dozen vantage points. You'll experience the sheer power of this thundering river (enough water to fill an Olympic swimming pool every minute!), and then see it go "underground" in a frozen tube of lava poured by the volcanoes thousands of years ago. Free and easy parking. Rest rooms. Excellent signage. Virtually no incline and well-designed fencing makes this attraction accessible to almost anyone, including in a wheelchair. Yet a couple of small (authorized) diversions from the paved trail allow for spectacular up-close photos.

Natural Bridge Loop

A two-mile hiking path along the Rogue River in Southern Oregon.

Reviewed By piratejani - Jacksonville, Oregon

Between Medford and Bend or Crater Lake, drivers pass by Prospect and soon the a cathedral of trees lining the highway. Before Union Creek there is Natural Bridge. A wheelchair accessible pathway takes visitors across the raging rogue river so that visitors can see the tunnels and caves created by the Rogue. A MUST SEE.

National Creek Falls

Reviewed By Swimmy128 - Mill Creek, Washington

another short walk from our hotel in Prospect were national falls. I actually had no idea how many water falls are located by this town. The reason to come to this area is for the nature. so get out and visit the different water falls.
