What to do and see in Praslin Island, Seychelles: The Best Beaches

February 2, 2022 Etsuko Causey

One of the Seychelles’ most popular destinations, Praslin is home to fantastic beaches and intimate hotels and resorts. Soak up the sun in style while you keep a sunglassed eye out for the very rare bird species that dwell on Praslin, including the Seychelles bulbul and the black parrot. Praslin National Park in the island's south contains the spectacular palm forest of Vallée de Mai. Divers love the ancient coral reefs off Praslin's shores.

Anse Georgette

This small, serene beach is among the most beautiful on Praslin Island.

Reviewed By illusions328 - Great Falls, United States

this is a small beautiful beach with easy access for Constance Lemuria guests (10min free buggy ride every hour) and less easy access for outside guests, 25min-30min walk from parking outside the hotel through the golf course on a hilly but well maintained path. If you are staying at the hotel, this is the only beach you need to be at. we were surprised to see so few hotel guests take the extra 10mins to get to this beach as most of them spent time at petite anse kerlan which gets very busy. this is not a secluded/isolated beach but because access isn't easy, the crowds are much lower than the likes of anse laszio. we were often the first on the beach around 9am and first to depart around noon after which the crowds start to grow. so for that isolated Cast Away feeling come early! water and weather is still very warm this beach has it all, beautiful surroundings, granite rock and all, white soft sand and and beautiful clear blue water. it seems to be a safe beach to swim (depending on season/current conditions) and plenty of shade. there are no facilities but you can buy juice/fruit from a local vendor. we spent 4 mornings at this beach during our 4 night stay @ the lemuria.

Anse Lazio

Deserving of its reputation as one of the best beaches in the Seychelles, arguably one of the best in the World. Turquoise waters, fine golden sand, lofty palms right up to the shore line and shouldered by giant granite boulders at each end of the bay. You may find you're pinching yourself to make sure its not all a dream. Snorkeling was great just behind the granite rocks at the far end of the bay near Bonbon Plume, plenty of other people here too so follow the snorkels! Note - Bonbon Plume was still closed for refurbishment when we visited in August.

Petite Anse Kerlan

For me this one is on par with Anse Georgette, accessible through Constance Lemuria. It is small and intimate with fine sand and small waves. There's a rock formation between Petite Anse Kerlan and Anse Kerlan that can be climbed on for beautiful landscape photography.

Anse La Blague

We stumbled across Anse la Blague by accident and are glad that we did. Located at the end of the road, this less developed and non-descriptive beach offers stunning water, great views of the surrounding islands, and little tourists. The water is shallow and not rough, which is ideal if you have kids, want to float or want to snorkel. As with any beach, take your garbage out with you when you leave.

Cote d’Or Beach

Reviewed By Clefsdor_retired - Vienna, Austria

We went 2 times here during our 14 days stay at Praslin Island. The first time was in the morning with low tide and the next time was in early afternoon with high tide. Must be seen and perfect for swimming - we have no kids (grown up) but we recommend this beach for small ones. The sand is almost like golden dust. A dream
