What to do and see in Prague, Bohemia: The Best Shopping Malls

December 10, 2021 Deane Carmody

The bohemian allure and fairytale features of Prague make it a perfect destination for beach-weary vacationers who want to immerse themselves in culture. You could devote an entire day to exploring Prazsky hrad (Prague Castle), then refueling over a hearty dinner at a classic Czech tavern. Spend some time wandering the Old Town Square before heading over to gape at The Old Town Hall and Astronomical Clock. Prague’s best bars are found in cellars, where historic pubs set the scene for a night of traditional tippling.

Lot of stores, huge grocery store (Hypermarket Albert) big cinema including one screen with special 4Dx technology, huge food court with countless options (indian, KFC, McDonald, Lebanese, Mexican, Czech, vegan etc.) At this moment most of the stores (and cinema) are closed due to Covid restrictions. OC Letnany

Letnany Shopping Centre was chosen by Tesco Group to implement a Europe-wide project representing a new shopping concept. The store, which is located in the busy Letnany Shopping Centre, is a model of retail trends and innovations. The modernised hypermarket is also an example of Tesco’s strategy of using the space within its large stores to ensure it is the most attractive place for shopping for customers. Letnany Shopping Centre is the ideal place for relaxation and entertainment, sports and especially shopping in Prague. The centre provides stores of well-known global brands and pleasant restaurants and cafes.

Actually, you don't even have to enter the mall if you are only interested in the wonderful crystal selection in the Moser Gallery. The entrance is from the Prikopy street. The gallery is one floor up in a beautiful showroom. It feels much more like a museum , than a shop. The fact, I find most interesting is, that the history of the Moser family continues here, as the actual showroom used to be the family's residence. If you love the quality and elegance of the best crystal, you will appreciate their wonderful display . The staff is very friendly and knowledgable. The building itself is architecturally beautiful. The showroom 's French doors open up to the prominent wrought iron balcony on the first floor, facing the street. The Mall itself is small by today 's standards , the inner courtyard is nice. But there are far too many attractive places in Prague to sit down for a drink , so it is not my choice to linger in the mall. If you make a purchase , ask about the VAT tax return details. If you qualify, you can save considerable amount of money ....

This mall is located next to the hotel I stayed at, which is the Courtyard Marriott. They have the DM drug store in the lower level, a food court, souvenir shops, clothing, shoes, and a movie theatre. The DM drug store came in particularly handy, being I left a few things at home. And there's numerous ATMs if you need cash. The exchange rate is about the same as the ATM in the Marriott (if you're curious about that).
