Predjama Castle is situated in the middle of a towering cliff, a mere 9 km from Postojna Cave. The Pivka Cave and the Black Cave are the final two caves along the subterranean Pivka River before the river finally disappears and resurfaces in the Planina Cave. The Pivka Cave entrance is located 5 km from the Postojna Cave. The 65-metre deep entrance can be reached by walking 317 steps. Electric illumination is provided along the tourist path. The path takes visitors along the Pivka River towards the Black Cave, after which they get back to the surface and return through a forest. The tour takes an hour and a half, no special equipment is needed.
