It is Bushkill Falls opened for public in 1904 .A stream from Rocky Mountain turns in to 100 ft deep scenic water fall. The Asa Packer Mansion Museum in Jim Thorpe, PA, is an amazing time capsule. The mansion was completed in 1861 by coal and railroad magnate Asa Packer. In 1912 it was donated to the borough by Packer's daughter with the stipulation that nothing be changed or taken out of the mansion. The woodworking, chandeliers, and household items are magnificent. The docent-guided tour was very informative. The orchestrion in the upstairs hallway was a rare treat.

The Mauch Chunk Opera House

Noted in National Geographic Traveler for its superb acoustics, the 1881 Opera House was an important stop on the old Vaudeville circuit. Today's schedule is diverse, from folk, rock, classical, and jazz. Recent renovations include a new steel roof, sound system and theater seats. Relaxed, intimate and all seats have a great view. The Opera House is located in the heart of Jim Thorpe's historic district, just a quick stroll to pubs, restaurants, lodging and shops.

Beautiful waterfalls! There’s a nice boardwalk if you’re looking for a short and easy walk, and then when you get to the main falls you can climb some steps and keep walking in the woods. Not really crowded except on summer weekends.

Popular, off the beaten path vineyard. Restaurant with Italian menu. Almost every table orders pizza, which looked good, but we didn't. We enjoyed the cheese plate which included honey, almonds, grapes, Lavash crackers and five different Italian cheeses. I did the sangria tasting in the restaurant, which included 5 flavors of sangria. I also drank a full cup of peach sangria which was one of the sweeter ones and enjoyed eating the fresh peach slices that were included. We were fortunate to visit on a weekend when there was live music. In the afternoon, the musician played on the porch outside the tasting room. In the early evening, the musician performed on the large covered porch of the restaurant. We enjoyed sitting in one of their several gazebos and on various benches throughout the grounds. You are not permitted to bring outside food or beverages onto the grounds. This place is a hidden gem.

Gorgeous waterfalls. Easy walk around and in between them, and I remember coming here as a younger kid and loving it (when it’s warm wading in the water is nice).
