"Playa Blanca" means "white beach," and indeed, travelers flock here to swim and sunbathe. Huge yachts bob up and down at the marina, where you'll also find many shops and restaurants and a lively market. TripAdvisor travelers say Montana Roja is not "particularly strenuous" and offers amazing views from the top.

Nous avons pu découvrir Lanzarote hors des sentiers touristiques. Luc propose une sortie en 4x4 et c'est vraiment du 4x4. De jolies vues, des informations sur l'île, des oasis tranquilles et isolées, un troupeau de chèvre. On en apprend sur la faune et la flore. A faire sans hésitation. Cette sortie reste un excellent souvenir.

This is well worth a visit if you don’t mind climbing a short but steep hill to get there. You can reach the start of the path by walking up the road marked Montana Baja (opposite the entrance to the Hotel HL Paradise Island) - this also looks like a good place to park if you have a hire car. The steep part of the walk is fairly short and when you’re at the top you can walk around the rim of the volcano and/or right down into the crater. Amazing views of Playa Blanca, the whole of the southern tip of Lanzarote plus Fuerteventura in the distance. We also saw some beautiful plant and bird life including the Barbary Partridge living in the scrub at the bottom of the crater.
All for free and, in my opinion, better than most of the paid for attractions we visited during our holiday. Take a small bottle of water, a hat and wear sunscreen because there is no shade. An extra layer might be a good idea on a cool or windy day. Don’t worry about walking boots, trainers are fine.

This is a nice beach that is fairly long for walking. We did a few km in each direction. There was a fair amount of sea weed and garbage. Resorts work to clean it up. The surf is strong and often under red flag for swimming. There are lots of vendors all day.

Lots of choice of restaurants from simple tapas to fine dining. Live music in some establishments. You can eat overlooking the boats in the Marina as the sun goes down. Large market on Saturdays, worth a visit,even if you are not a shopper. Live sports bar.

A nice walk, pedestrianised so no cars to worry about and passing Marinas, Beaches, hotels, bars, shops, restaurants, volcanoes and a lighthouse.
Oddly it doesn’t continue around the Playa Blanca harbour so there’s 200m of either roadside or car park walking! But otherwise it’s a nice walk.

Man made beach but that means they’ve brought in some good sand - it doesn’t completely cover the rocks etc at the western end, but the eastern end is very sandy.
The breakwaters make for protected kid friendly waters, although of course they detract a little from the beauty.
The water in early March was definitely cool, too cool for me to swim though I AMA a little soft! Some people were swimming.
The sun loungers only cover a small portion of the beach and it was never that busy during our stay.
Overall, nice and clean family beach!

We dived with Dive College in Playa Blanca (who are excellent - check out my review on them!). The Museo Atlantico is worth the RIB trip. It's worth the extra cost (€12pp) and it is supervised by a on-site authority (which has emergency kit on board their boat if it's required). The site is accessed by a line (obligatory) and all of the statues are at 15m. The guide we had had been trained in the various sculptures, and we had a briefing beforehand, so we knew what we were seeing.

My family spent lots of time at the beach. It was lovely and clean.A great Promenade too with lots of places to eat and varied shops. The children could even play till early evening as it was well lit .
