Plain Cellars

We visited Plain Cellars for the first time about a year ago, with friends who have a vacation condo nearby. We had such a good time, and enjoyed the wines, that we joined the wine club. Now we visit a couple of times a year, and never miss stopping by for a tasting, chatting with the owners and the locals who drop by, and playing with their two Labrador Retrievers. It's well worth the visit to check them out.

Leavenworth Reindeer Farm

Leavenworth Reindeer Farm is a USDA licensed farm located less than 1/2 mile from downtown Leavenworth. We provide farm tours for the whole family by appointment only. Come meet our friendly reindeer, feed them and take photos of a magical experience on the farm.

The reindeer farm was absolutely amazing. They greet you upon arrival with offers of hot cocoa and a warm fire. They introduce you to their furry farm friends. The tour starts with a learning session about reindeer. Hans was very funny. I enjoyed his jokes.. I had the absolute most fun feeding dear, sweet Elsa by hand. We will be back with all our children and I will be recommending this farm to everyone I know. Thank you for the wonderful memories.

The drive along the river is beautiful. Lots of places to hike down to the river. Lots of camping. If you have a rugged car, the drive to the end (14 miles) is worthwhile. The river is beautiful in the winter.

Napeequa Vintners

Reviewed By Donna S - Lynnwood, Washington

Colleagues extended an invitation to visit this winery during Memorial Day weekend while Napeequa was having a BBQ outing. Napeequa Vintners is a little off the beaten path, but easily found. Dave Morris is a gracious owner and host during your visit. We had called ahead to make reservations for the BBQ and when Dave called back to confirm, I mentioned that I was wearing a leg cast and asked if he would please reserve a table and chairs for our group. He said he would take care of everything and keep an eye out for us. When we arrived, Dave greeted us and had a special seat set aside for me, his "corking chair". There were tents set up in case of rain (and yes, it rained a bit), great live music, a large roaring fire pit, a volleyball net and tetherball in the grassy area. We had a bottle of the special Barbeque red blend that paired nicely with the food. The food could have been warmer; we all ate everything on our plates while we enjoyed the wine. My girlfriend purchased some cheese spreads from the tasting room and said they are fabulous. If you're visiting the Leavenworth area, make time to visit Napeequa. They have a Facebook page, too.

We were visiting Leavenworth in November and decided to take a stroll in Waterfront Park. Much of it was flooded but the parts that weren't were really fun to walk around. Beautiful views and some good bird watching. Recommend!

Front Street Park

This urban park hosts lots of outdoor activities year round.

Visiting Leavenworth a week before Christmas and it was very crowded village with Christmas lighting at the village center. We're so lucky to get white Christmas since there was heavy snow one day before we arrived there; thus all Leavenworth was covered with white powder snow. It was beautiful view in the afternoon and night as the Christmas lighting lit up the city. It's a worth visit during Christmas time and don't forget to try best hot dog at Munchen Haus.

We always go to Icicle Brewing on our Leavenworth visits. Love sitting outside and having wine or beer and their meat and cheese tray. Relaxing and fun atmosphere, great location to people watch! They offer standing heaters outside too if the weather is on the cooler side. Like that it is dog friendly, too!

Leavenworth Summer Theater

Reviewed By oilton28 - Glenpool, Oklahoma

The setting is absolutely beautiful. The actors and actresses were outstanding, as was the orchestra which also seemed to be made up of local musicians. Leavenworth has much to be proud of. We watched the "Sound of Music" on July 20. A little advice, check the weather to see what the temperature will be at 10;30 pm, and dress appropriately. It was rather cool and a jacket felt nice. My wife bought a sweatshirt which was sold on site. I highly recommend the Leavenworth Summer Theater. It put an exclamation point on our trip to Washington!

Mountain Springs Lodge Sleigh Rides

Just like the good old days only better. A two horse sleigh, clean crisp winter air, the crunch of fresh snow, open meadows, snow covered trees, and the babbling waters of Beaver Creek, sleigh bells and the carol of your choice. Enjoy a hot spiced cider by the open fire. End your horse drawn sleigh ride with a sizzling steak dinner at Beaver Creek Lodge in front of the rock fireplace.

Reviewed By fjcruz14 - Moses Lake, Washington

We had a great time on our sleigh ride even though it was bitterly cold. The driver was personable and knowledgeable, answering questions about the horses and property. We went on a day it was only 10 degrees and even though blankets are provided, be sure to dress warm from head to your toes. Highly recommended.
