Really nice friendly welcome from the staff at this bar. Our favourite bar in Koutouloufari. Small bar but very quaint, plenty of cocktails. Only problem is they kept giving us nuts crisps and popcorn.

Aquaworld - Crete's first Aquarium - opened in Hersonissos in 1995 - near Bus Stop 20. It features local sea life and reptiles from Crete and from all around the world. Most of the animals are rescued or are unwanted pets which have found a new home at Aquaworld. Our philosophy is simple - bring people and animals closer together and, inevitably, people will begin to respect and care more about the animals!

Incredible people, fantastic place...tiny, at first sight makes little impression, but then you see that people have passion and are completely engaged in what they do. They talk to us, tell about animals, let us touch them....fantastic adventure for kids...good to spend money on such initiative as this one!!!!I will come back there when I'm in Crete!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went here various times for drinks in our ten day stay as they showed the football for hubby. I had cocktails which varied between €6-8 which isn't cheap but they are good. Hubby liked the large beers for €3.50. Good vibe and friendly water, even when he was looking a bit haggered and rushed off his feet during the busy England game!!

Went there with my two boys (7 and 9) to do the Game Room. They loved it. Badgered me and the missus to do the Explosion room with them. That was more challenging (clues were more difficult and also they were more aware of the time ticking by). Great fun (so much so that we now have to find some in London).

I booked the trip by emailing through the website.
They got back to me really quickly and gave me all the information I needed.
On the morning of the trip we were picked up from our hotel on time.
We were a party of three and decided to drive which was so much fun and I definitely recommend.
Throughout the trip we stopped off at two village cafés, one in the morning and one in the afternoon and mixed with the locals.
At lunchtime we stopped at a taverna in a small village.
It was lovely and included in the price, drinks too.
You could have rotisserie chicken or pork with greek salad and bread.
Fruit and raki to finish, I can honestly say it was divine and the owners so friendly.
Roger and his team knew a wealth of knowledge and were really hospitable.
A brilliant day out but be prepared to get very dusty and dirty!

Lovely gift shop, sells all the usual stuff but what sets it aside from all the others was the lady that worked there, very helpful very friendly even gave us a map to find the bakery.Dear mrsmcdonald9, thank you soooo much for your very nice comment. This is the best bar in Koutouloufari. By a mile. Whether you sit inside or out you get the same quality of service. Outside Nicos reigns supreme with his wit and natural charm. Inside, Veronica has control of cocktails, the best, and great chat. Her slightly broken Hungarian accent is charming and when she was able to update my forgotten memory of Egri Bikovar, (Bull's Blood to you and me) it made my night.
We intend to come back to Koutouloufari many times and Dionysus will be our first port of call every evening.

The Cretan open- air Museum "LYCHNOSTATIS" is located at Hersonissos, by the sea- side. It consists of four main collections: Nature & Flora Collection, with Gardens of fruit- trees, aromatic herbs, cactus, shrubs and plants, stones and minerals of Crete. Ethnographic Collection, with a presentation of Cretan traditional life (a stone- made farmhouse, a middleclass house, a chapel, an olive- oil press, a windmill, a shepherd's shelter, a threshing floor, a wine- vat, a raki- distillery, workshops of ceramics, weaving and plant- dyeing, an old school, a bee's & wax house).Art collection with works of folk artists exhibited in the Folk Artist's Gallery, the Open- Air Theatre and the Exhibitions' Room.Collection of pre-Industrial Technology with equipment (olive- oil press, windmill, carob-mill, herb-press) used in the past. The Museum organizes a range of educational programs and its Audiovisual Department produces films, CD- ROM's, DVD' s presented daily in the Multimedia & Conference room. It has also a Museum-shop and a cafe. The Museum was nominated for the European Museum of the Year Award in 2010 and honoured by the University of Crete in 1997 for its ecological activities. "LYCHNOSTATIS" is open for a daily visit with a guided- tour, from (Saturday closed).

Did not know quite what to expect, but a very gentle wander through cretes past, different things to see around every corner, you feel totally immersed in the history, not just looking at it, was raining slightly during our visit, but would still recommend it, it is very well laid out and explained, they do demonstrations from time to time, but sadly not during our visit.

The Irish spirit lives on, even in the smallest village in the top right-hand corner of Crete at Nostos cafe bar.
Filled with Irish memorabilia, GAA playing on the giant screen and an eclectic mix of hard rock, country and western and pop on the video music screen, this place has an amiable buzz of frenetic activity and chilled Guinness.
Apparently less busy since those pesky folk at Ryanair shifted their Irish flights from Heraklion to Chania at the other end of this large island, still a great place for a drink, some Celtic atmosphere and banter when you have had a one too many Greek salad.
