Bay of Zea (Pasalimani)

Whenever I visited Athens, I would always stay down town. This time I thought I would do things differently and I am really glad I chose to stay at Pasalimani. It is a lot safer than central Athens, you can walk to all the aesthetically and historically significant places of Piraeus without ever feeling scared or threatened, there are plenty of amazing places to eat and drink just around the corner, you are just next to Piraeus central market and, most important you get to enjoy the marina view, the sea, the yachts, and if you feel like it, catch one of the many ships to Aegina, it;s only 40 minutes away!

Church of Saint Nicholas

Saint Nicholas is the most beautiful church of the Piraeus port. It stands out with its blue dome near the cruise ships terminal and it's certainly worth visiting.

Ieros Naos Agia Triada

Reviewed By HebaEssam - Athens, Greece

The amazing church is opposite to the Bank of Greece. While you are on the staircase of the church, you will find mighty Byzantine pillars that confronts the particular Corinthian and Doric ones in the façade of the bank .. This entourage embraces the history of Greece. Located very close from the port of Piraeus, the Metropolis holy church of Agia Triada survived the bombardment of 11 January 1944. It is beautifully constructed on the luxurious Byzantine fashion and it has very special icons of the saints (Katarina and Dimitris are my favourite), chandeliers and ceiling paintings. I highly recommend.

Electric Railway Museum

Reviewed By erijon

This beautiful small museum hides the huge history of objects related to buses, trams and trains in Athens and Piraeus of the last century. It's so impressive and live that you feel as if you have travelled back in time and you can touch and see so many exhibits: a whole wooden wagon, mechanisms, ticket booth, books, tickets etc. I REALLY LOVED IT ! Entrance is free and it's open on weekdays 9:00-14:00.

Ekklisia Agios Spiridon

Reviewed By permia

Against the deepest of azure skies, its light hued façade looked wonderful. Double bell towers frame the very attractive profile of ornate windows and triple arched marble entrance. Ascending the steps and entering we were struck by the marvellously embellished features. Bright frescoes adorn the space throughout. A fine iconostasis with its panoply of saints is impressive. A gorgeous dome radiant in colour and holy images is suffused with light through the lunettes.
