Siaozihshan

The Pingxi Crags hike is really fun and not too bad if you don’t mind heights and narrow stairs- bring good hiking/climbing shoes and take your time to enjoy the views on the peaks. And take a walk around the old town - very scenic.

Shifen Old Street

One should not leave Taiwan without experiencing Pingxi sky lantern. Our guide, Roger, showed us to places where the best chicken with rice can be found (near the train station). There were a lot of street food and mementos offer along the railway. Always feels great to experience the happy moments with your family.

Shifen Waterfall

Reviewed By ronnav2016 - Taguig City, Philippines

Shifen is well known for the Shifen Waterfall a 40 metre tall waterfall that creates a rainbow as it splashes into the lake, widely regarded as the most scenic in all of Taiwan. The train station located down the river from the waterfall area, originally built for transporting coal, was built right alongside the Shifen Old Streets, and today stands as a reminder of Taiwan's history and culture. Went here as a part of Northcoast Tour, the Falls is kinda crowded that time but we had sometime to see and enjoy the nice view. The entrance here is free of charge and you can relax and roam around the area anytime you want but since we just joined a tour our time is just limited and we really didn't roam around the area and see the other part. Short time stay but we enjoyed. I love the falls , th hanging bridge, and the small river flowing up to the falls.. Great place to visit to.

Pingxi Station

Reviewed By Watsson - Annapolis, United States

We did Pingxi and Shifen as a day trip from Taipei. They’re similar but you might as well do both. Pingxi is the quieter of the 2. You can launch a good-luck lantern from either. Shifen has more food choices. But at Pingxi you get a money-back guarantee that your wish will come true. Or was that at Shifen??? Before you head back to Taipei, the night market in Keelung is a good choice for dinner.
