Dutch's Spirits at Harvest Homestead Farm

Dutch's Spirits is rebuilding an original NY bootlegging distillery in the historic Hudson Valley. First “organized” in 1932 during the twilight of Prohibition, our land was the site of an extensive bootlegging operation financed by the iconic mobster, Dutch Schultz. Now, over 80 years later, Dutch’s Spirits is reviving the distillery foundations and revitalizing its land as kept by the Adams family for generations. Harvest Homestead Farm will be a self-sustaining source of ingredients for its unique beverages, food, and crafts.

Went here last weekend with a few other couples, and had a great time! The barn has a great rustic look from the outside, but is pristine on the inside with a tasting bar, some tables, and floor to ceiling windows overlooking the distillery room. We first had some drinks from the outside bar while relaxing at the picnic tables, and then went inside for a couple of flights and other tastings. We had dinner plans for later in the evening so did not eat much, but there was a food truck with some gourmet pizza options in addition to the food stand with the Hudson Valley Marshmallows & smores. There was music piped outside and the place had a great relaxed, rustic, yet trendy vibe. Not to mention great views which will be extra beautiful as the fall foliage colors start to peak. We will definitely be back!

30-40 Min hike depending on trail and ability. Orange trail is faster/steeper with 'seasonal' views of CT& Dutchess landscape. The Blue trail is more gentle but slower/longer. TAKE THE BLUE TRAIL DOWN. Go up the fire tower (it's the best part of the walk) at least up above the tree line. The view is great, 360 degrees. Catskills to the west, MA to the Northeast, CT to the east and hawks BELOW you. Easiest Way to get there: Take Taconic to Rt. 199 exit. East on 199 to Pine Plains. In "Downtown" Pine Plains turn South on to Rt 82. Just down Route 82 is Lake Rd. The Fire Dept is on the corner. If you get to Stewarts you went too far. The parking & trailhead are on Lake Rd between the Thompson Pond Nature Preserve sign and Beach Rd.
