Nearly perfect year-round weather and several impeccably designed championship courses have made Phoenix one of the top golf destinations in the world. But there's more to this mild-mannered metropolis than pristine greens and tee times. The greater Phoenix area also offers visitors an array of impressive cultural attractions. Visit the internationally renowned Heard Museum for an in-depth look at Native American history or peruse the fine collection at the Phoenix Museum of Art. Enjoy a ballet performance at the ornate Orpheum Theater or or catch a concert at the state-of-the-art Comerica Theatre. In addition to golf, the city offers access to numerous outdoor endeavors including rock climbing, hot-air ballooning, desert jeep tours and more. Family-friendly attractions, first-rate shopping, dining and entertainment, and spectacular recreational activities make Phoenix a must-visit destination.

St. Mary’s Basilica, named The Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin is the oldest Catholic parish in Phoenix and was the only Catholic parish in Phoenix until 1924. It holds a unique place in the history of the Church and in the Diocese of Phoenix. On September 2, 1985, Pope Saint John Paul II solemnly proclaimed the Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary to be a Minor Basilica. At that time, for historical, cultural, artistic, and spiritual reasons, St. Mary’s became the 32nd basilica in the United States. While on his American Visit, Pope Saint John Paul II visited St. Mary’s knelt in prayer in the center aisle and then spoke to the crowd from the balcony on September 14, 1987. St. Mary's Basilica is a parish of the Franciscan friars of the Province of Saint Barbara. The first Franciscan came to the area in 1539.
The Bishop's basilica... should be a very nice place and this one does not disappoint. We enjoy our annual (when my family gathers in Phoenix for a week) Sunday worship at this beautiful church.

Wife and I ended week long trip to Phoenix/Scottsdale area with a tour and afternoon high tea at Wrigley Mansion. Neither events disappointed! There was complimentary valet parking which we took advantage of. There are currently three offering of tour times; 10, 11 and noon. It’s reasonably priced and our group size was 6 plus the guide. Shout out to our guide, Kirsten, as she was animated in her presentation and talked about not only the history of the mansion but also some great stories about the Wrigley and Hormel families. We loved it! The hour went by very fast. After the tour we stuck around the mansion to soak up the atmosphere and for their afternoon tea. I think reservations are required and servings are only Thursday and Friday but check with the facility website for more details. Kenny and Landon did a great job of serving up a lovely 3 course afternoon tea of finger sandwiches, scones and deserts. You can choose your tea from an extensive list or they can pair your tea with the food course to get the best result. Food and tea were top notch and service was friendly and knowledgeable. During our tea we enjoyed wonderful piano playing on a one of a kind Steinway player piano from an amazing local talent, Mark DeCozio. If you want to know more about that piano you just have to go on the tour! It’s an interesting story and it still works as a player piano. Mark played beautifully and definitely added to the enjoyment of our experience. The one negative to the whole experience was the construction project of a new restaurant at the front of the facility. That sort of thing doesn’t really bother us but I do mention it as it might bother some. It sounds like it will be a remarkable addition to the facility when it’s complete but it definitely mars the view from the front and there is construction noise. Overall, great job Wrigley Mansion staff! Well done. Looking forward to coming back the next time we are in the area to check out your brunch and hopefully the new restaurant.

I've been here for a few events, I think this last event was enthralling. The Theater was built to play Silent Films, and I attended a Silent Sunday event.. accompanied by the Mighty Wurlitzer Pipe Organ, played by Brett Valliant. I'd liked Silent Films for some time, my wife, mmm not so much. But we saw "Sunrise - A Song of Two Humans" from William Fox. For both of us the experience was enthralling, the Organ cannot be appreciated outside the theater. It absorbs you and brings you into the world presented in the film. It's been sometime sense the world disappeared and I was pulled into an experience. Back in the day, the Orpheum Theaters, were built to be a destination which played movies and hosted events. Each cities movie palace reflected a trait of the city in which it was built. (I remember coming here when I was in grade school). The building went through a couple of other incarnations, but was restored by the city of Phoenix. Thankfully it was not knocked down and lost.

The Rosson House Museum is a fully-restored 1895 Queen Anne Victorian house museum which interprets the history of Phoenix. Tours of the house include all living areas and offer visitors a glimpse into the lifestyles of early Phoenix families. Admission to the Rosson House Museum is by guided tour only, with masks required and limited tour capacities to keep our community safe. Tickets are available in person and online on our website.
Very enjoyable tour! The house is beautiful and beautifully decorated with pieces from the era, if not original to the house. The tour guide was very cheerful and knowledgeable. We were lucky to have a history buff in our tour who asked lots of great questions, allowing us to learn about cool things like an old fashioned foot warmer, a disinfectant drum, and a pie locker. Try to ask questions about anything odd looking, you’ll be in for some fun tidbits! There is parking right next to Heritage Square and if you take the tour (at this time the only way to see the house), then they will validate the parking for you and save you $11 :) The tour itself was $15 per person I think. Definitely worth a visit!

I have been to downtown Phoenix many times over the years for business and have never had the time to walk through the plaza and really had no idea what was there. In October 2019 I arrived an hour and a half early for a meeting, I found a parking spot in the plaza, from where I parked I realized I could see two very large 16 inch guns from the USS Arizona. As I walked closer I saw the signal tower and one of her anchors and a beautiful display for the sailors who lost their lives. The entire plaza is full of memorials from the USS Arizona, Navajo Code Talkers all branches of the military and law enforcement, even a beautiful statue honoring Father Eusebio Kino. I enjoyed walking the plaza and spending time at each memorial. I plan on going again so I can spend more than an hour. It's a for history buffs and people that just want to pay respects.

This makes K1 Speed the best entertainment venue & event venue in the area, and a great spot for a fun date night idea, family fun, social outings, team building, corporate events, company parties, birthday parties, bachelor or bachelorette parties, and more.
My friend, Mike, and I were talking about fun things to do and he suggested we try K1 Speed. K1 SPEED K1 Speed is electric indoor go kart racing that is known for high performance 20hp electric karts that can reach speeds approaching 45mph and the professionally designed tracks with a high-grip racing surface which allow maximum speed through the corners. K1 Speed originally started in Carlsbad, California, by race car driver Boris Said III in 2003. K1 Speed is now in 14 states and Mexico. K1 Speed is off of 24th Street and I-17 and is slightly confusing to find behind the local industrial neighborhood. It helped that we had a map and GPS. THE STORY After registering and paying, we had a bit of a wait, but we did come at peak hours, so it wasn't completely surprising. Then we were called for a safety briefing and got to get into the karts. Once everyone was ready to go, we were off! Then it's up to you! I started to feel my adrenaline flowing right away with the rush of racing and focused on going as fast as I could without spinning out. CONCLUSION K1 Speed is a lot of fun! I was addicted after the first lap and would definitely go back! 5/5 HIGHLY RECOMMEND OF NOTE *There are social media discounts, including a Yelp Check-In Offer: $5 Off An Arrive & Drive Race *Packages available for corporate events and private parties. *There is plenty of parking out front. *HOURS Mon - Thurs: 12pm-10pm Fri: 11am-12am Sat: 10am-12am Sun: 10am-10pm
