St. Croix Rod Factory Store

Ken took us on an informative tour of the entire plant. There were many hands-on moments where we were allowed to handle the rods being made. The engineer and the artist/craftsman in you will surely appreciate what goes into making "the best rods on Earth."

Before/After the tour, save time to shop. You will be able to have someone guide you through your selection. If you're from many miles away, as we were, they are happy to ship the rods to you.

(Don't miss the fishing rod that became a lightning rod. Yeh, that one will never be the same.)

Turtle - Flambeau Flowage

The 19,000 acres of lakes in the Flambeau Flowage make it the "Crown Jewel of the North."

We took our kids here with our pontoon boat and they had a wonderful time. There are roughly 60 islands with camping spots and they are very cool. The fishing is very good for little kids and it seems as though we were always able to catch something. We would certainly recommend this place to anyone with or without a family. It is an awesome place!!!!!

This small studio in Butternut is a wonderful gallery of work from the proprietor, Kelly Meredith. She's a professional muralist, but has created a series of wonderful landscapes and other pieces that really evoke the sense of the region. The pieces range from small post-card sized reproductions to full scale originals, so there's something for everyone. Really a great find.

Flambeau River

The Flambeau is a premier fishing river.

Reviewed By DonandLisaFromUSA - Hurley, Wisconsin

My wife and I traveled here last summer with our boat and I must say that we did not know the river that well and we did have concerns about hitting rocks, trees, and stumps, that we saw around the river. It was a nice ride and we would do it again. As with any we body of water that you travel one, take your time, bring a map, and use caution in places that you have not been. It also does not hurt to ask others that you see at the landings. We would go back again, this time with a map, I forgot one last time...

Flambeau Lanes

Reviewed By Jesse M - Houston, Texas

This place has just been remodeled and I'm kinda confused why they call it Flambeau Lanes.

They remodeled the dinning area but left the actually bowling lanes untouched.

The lanes and equipment are seriously still from the 1970's. Half of the time the lanes or score screens don't even work.

But the bar and dinning area look good now.
