Monkey Island

Located in Lake Gatun, this island gets its name for the white-faced monkeys that inhabit it.

We traveled with John from Panama Day Trips on their Lake Gatun Eco Tour. We began with a fresh morning on Lake Gatun motoring along next to giant container ships as they made their way across Panama. John was knowledgeable about the animals which were occupying the little man-made islands and it was a treat to see the Tamarin monkeys come out of the trees to have a look at us. Cynthia at Panama Day Trips office was so helpful in setting up our transportation. Truly a must see for a trip to Panama!

Flamenco Island

We were staying the financial district but visited Flamenco Island a few times. There are lots of nice restaurants and great night life. Definitely recommend visiting if you are in Panama City. The Hop on Hop off bus goes there but it is easy to grab a taxi for a few dollars.

Taboga Island Beaches

Reviewed By ArmyRangeratMIT - Wayne, United States

If you have a hankering for the beach experience and you're working in Panama City, this is the place for you! 10 minutes away from downtown you Uber to the Amador Causeway dock and catch the 20 minute ferry leaving regularly and bam! you arrive at the coolest little island with lockers to toss your stuff and .. go! I got in a great 5 mile run by running the length of the path along all the restaurants and the church and the boutique hotels, in and village or 2 and out past the private homes, till the end of the road where theyre building mor cool stuff. Wow that was good! It was hard to decide what cool restaurant to choose so I had a beer at one, and then lunch and another beer at a second place.. I grabbed the sunset ferry back after a great day and felt like I was an explorer who had just discovered an unknown island!
