The history of the Church is fascinating. We spent 30 minutes inside and an hour would have been better. Not to be missed.

Iglesia de San Francisco de Asis

Reviewed By Luciafernandez62

The Church of Saint of Saint Francis of Assisi is worth a visit. It is located right in front of Plaza Simon Bolivar. The main altar is spectacular. It features a beautiful mosaic portraying the Virgin Mary in the center, stepping on a serpent, surrounded by angels and accompanied by Saint Francis of Assisi and Saint Francis Xavier; below, there are Jesuit saints and martyrs. There are many ornaments in sumptuous marbles, figures such as Nuestra Señora del Pilar, San Judas Tadeo, San José, and San Francisco de Asis. The air conditioned is wonderful, and it adds to your comfort while you enjoy a special moment of prayer and contemplation of the many details of this temple.

Iglesia de San Pedro

Reviewed By N310OZbobb - Isla Taboga, Panama

At over 500 years old, this small church has served this island almost since it's birth. At first blush, one might say "quaint, simple, plain". They would be correct. That lend's itself to the elegance of the architecture, the timeless craftsmanship, the antiquity of the experience is uplifting. In special Holidays, the church is decorate inside with flowers and such by the people of Taboga. Truly impressive.

El Arco Chato

The remains of this church are nicely preserved including the famous unsupported arch. It's a nice place to view and reflect when it's quiet.
