A very good exhibit for rugby history buffs but not so much for non rugby fanatics (we are the non fanatics). We kind of just breeze through the exhibit but the rugby activity is fun and makes up for the cost of the entry fee.
The staff manning the exhibit was very friendly and knowledgable.

Service is about people - and the young lady was so unfriendly. Maybe she didn't like to work on a Sunday.
We asked elsewhere - and found our way through town.

Dugald MacKenzie Rose Gardens

Reviewed By Sus1952 - Palmerston North, New Zealand

In the summer these rose Gardens are extremely good and must rank as some of the best that I have seen in the world. They are always kept neat and tidy and because of the layout you get a good view of all the rose beds. Because we have a long season of roses in Palmerston North it is lovely from late October well into the autumn months. There is plenty of Seating so you can sit and enjoy.

Palmerston North Clock Tower

Reviewed By sun20 - Michigan

This clock tower sits at the center of the square, rather good looking. There are Gardens surrounding the clock tower. The top of the clock tower used to be a large cross. In one recent year, a box was installed on the top to cover the cross, which changed this clock tower to its current column appearance... A bit sad, really.

Lido Aquatic Centre

Reviewed By discountbay - Palmerston North, New Zealand

We are locals and I've been to the Lido over a thousand times. I was a GYM member there and take my kid there for swimming. They have fantastic facilities and people working there are great, friendly and helpful.
It's expensive though compared to similar facilities in Auckland.
It also takes forever for repairs. It took them half a year or so to refurbish family bathrooms. A pool was out of action for months last year for painting. Right now the sauna is closed for two days and counting for cleaning.
You don't have much choice in Palmerston North, but having said that, the children enjoy and it's a great place to go.

The Square

Reviewed By nilintentum_reliquit - Melbourne, Australia

PMR although classified as a city is a big town with a country feel. The clock tower in the centre square is surrounded by greenery, sculptures and watery features. A good spot to stretch your legs or break your journey.
