Idumban Temple

Reviewed By Anand G - Kochi (Cochin), India

The temple is quite simple and straight. There is little info on the unique character, Edumbar, supposedly the creator of kavadi. The priests are not quite helpful with any info either. Unlike the Murukan Temple, there is no ropeway/cable car/winch here. You simply walk up 570 steps, that is all. There are tiny idols of Ganesh and Murukan in the temple other than Edumbar himself, the main deity. The steps offer great views around. The temple opens at 0600 hrs and closes at 1800 hrs. Ideally, do an early morning climb here before visiting the Murukan Temple.

Kuthiraiyar Dam Falls

Reviewed By Anand G - Kochi (Cochin), India

The dam still has water though there was no rains for the past 8 months. The views are breathtaking. The dry patches in the dam are used as grazing grounds by sheep and picnic spot by vitors. The access is a bit difficult due to the poor condition of the roads. But still worth taking the trouble if you have time to spare.
