A wonderful family ski ridge w tough and steep terrains (as well as easy slopes) but quick and no major time lost in lines. If you want to do 20 runs, go for it. You’ll spend a fraction of the time as major resorts. Quaint. Rare find. Affordable. And Grouse House restaurant right on slope. Far superior than skiing food.

The blue heart Gilmore hike at Tolland State Forest is an easy hike for all to enjoy. Takes about 45 minutes so a quick hike to squeeze in between a morning and evening activity.

Andy greets you from behind the register with a gruff New England hello in his signature hard-hat. The taciturn exterior belies a kindness and friendliness that you might not expect, but it's there. The food selection can is wide, and what they have is generally wonderful, especially their home-made breads and pies. Good country people at a great country store.
