Phantom Falls is a seasonal waterfall on the North Table Mountain Ecological Preserve. It only flows after the rains, so you'll need to be prepared to visit when it's cold, get a little muddy, and pass a few cows along the way (just give them a wide berth). It's particularly beautiful in March and April when the wildflowers are in bloom. If you go right after particularly heavy rains, you'll find other smaller waterfalls flowing on your way to Phantom Falls. This moderate hike is a Must that everyone should do at least once while in Butte County.
