Church of the Transfiguration

The Church of the Transfiguration is the center of Community of Jesus - an ecumenical Benedictine monastic community located at Rock Harbor on the shores of Cape Cod Bay. The Community follows a daily rhythm of prayer including Eucharist and Liturgy of the Hours (sung in Gregorian chant). Designed by William Rawn Associates of Boston, the Church of the Transfiguration is a contemporary expression of an ancient 4th century style of architecture, and recounts the story of salvation through hand-crafted mosaic and fresco images, bronze, glass, and stone sculpture. The organ is a restoration and expansion of pipework from twelve organs built by the E.M. Skinner Organ Company in the early 20th century. As of 3/15/2020 the Church is CLOSED until further notice. Please check back in a few weeks for updated information.

Young's Fish Market

Reviewed By PekepooEmma - West Springfield, United States

Excellent place to buy fresh fish and it does not get any fresher than “THIS,” I assure you! LOL! The fishermen coming in each day from fishing, unload their catch right here on the dock ( you “HAVE TO COME TO ROCK HARBOR”...unlike any place else, I PROMISE YOU!) and bring right over to this neat little store to be sold, on the spot! They also cook up fresh fish( fried cod when we went and scrumptious...we ate it on breakwater that stretched into the sea, watching the fishing boats leave for their twice daily excursions out to sea) right there! It is such a scenic little fish Mkt., there all of 50 yrs anyway with an impeccable reputation! Their prices are excellent and loved making stuffed quahogs with their fresh catch that day! Yum! Yum! Great prices, great selection and fresher than fresh fish! It doesn’t get any better than that!
