This was an event planned by a vendor for a group in Omaha for Fuel Ethanol Laboratory Conference. I have wanted to try this for a long time. This was the perfect place for my first time! Our instructor was fun and very helpful and encouraging. I was happy with my final painting!! I can’t wait to try it again and hope that the place I choose back home is as fun as the Corky Canvas!!

The Kaneko

Reviewed By 763timg - Los Angeles, United States

Our first experience with Jun Kaneko was to a trip to Scottsdale, AZ. We saw these wonderful egg-like sculptures at the Botanical Gardens and loved them. I posted on a picture on Facebook and one of my ftriends commented that the Omaha Zoo also had similar sculptures but she didn’t mention that Jun Kaneko was based in Omaha. We toured the downtown Kaneko Art Studio and it is wonderful. There is not a lot of Kaneko pieces but I believe there is a effort in place to turn the building across the street into an exhibition space for his work. The Kaneko had five large halls, a gift shop and a wonderful little resource library. The exhibits were combo of Kaneko’s work, multi-media, paintings and works from other ceramic artists. It’s a wonderful museum for modern art and one of my favorite places in Omaha. A definite MUST SEE if you like modern art, ceramics or sculpture.
