The distance between Cape Oma and Cape Shiokubi in Hakodate City is only 17.5 kilometers over the Tsugaru Strait. On a clear day, you can see Hakodate’s famous Goryokaku Tower from Cape Oma with the naked eye. You can also take a commemorative photo at our tuna monument. The monument is modeled after a 440 kilogram tuna that was caught by pole fishing here in Oma. The entire Shimokita Peninsula has been recognized as a national geopark (Shimokita Geopark). In November 2017, Shimokita Geopark entered into a cooperation agreement with Yehliu Geopark in Taiwan. It's a souvenir shop at the northernmost of Honshu. We have lots of original tuna goods. The product popular among foreigners is the postcard of tuna made of wood. We also accept overseas shipment by EMS. We are waiting for everyone's visit.
