The garden was recommended by a guide book and it did not disappoint. It is quite simply the most beautiful view on Florence. Definitely worth the climb. I was able to get some fresh air despite the heat. Do not miss this hidden gem!

The gardens of the Torrigiani family are hidden away but I cannot urge travellers to Florence strongly enough to book a tour. The nurseries are wonderful, I walked over fields of mint, climbed to the top to see the folly tower, Vieri is a fabulous host and the bar is open in the evenings from 6pm. It is a magical place a short walk from the city centre. Do seek it out - you will be enthralled, as I was.,

If you are tired of the markets and the majestic architecture, try a stroll around the Boboli gardens. You can visit the Pitti Palace and the gardens in a single afternoon, and the gardens allow both fantastic views of the city, and the opportunity for several quiet strolls with someone special. Nothing overly special about the porcelain museum at the top, except for the view of the countryside and free admission! The admission price into the gardens is a little steep considering it is simply a park to enjoy, but if you have time to explore, worth the cost.
