Oceano (/oʊʃiˈɑːnoʊ/ or /oʊsiˈɑːnoʊ/; Spanish: [oˈseano]) is a census-designated place (CDP) in San Luis Obispo County, California, United States. The population was 7,286 at the 2010 census, up from 7,260 at the 2000 census. "Océano" (with accent) is the Spanish word for "ocean", but the toponymic name is written without it.

This is a true California beach. The sand is fine the surf is usually gentle. The beach itself is wide and stretches for miles. Great place for morning walk or catching the sunset.

A great experience, really good for sharing with friends! Starting to creep up in pricing but still affordable. Old-fashioned fun and theatre! Very basic foods, (wine is available) and just a fun evening!

What a great experience you can drive your car or truck or sand buggy on the beach. We drove our truck and parked right before sunset families were having small fires and dinner others were cruising the beach Ohv approved. This is a State Beach day use 6 am - 11 pm You can take your dog if it’s on a leash.We enjoyed the sunset.

We were visiting the Butterfly Sanctuary and walked along the boardwalks to Pismo State Beach in Oceano. Lovely beach where you can actually drive your car on to the sand!

Away from the town of Pismo there are few crowds. Very wide sandy beach fabulous for walking. Dogs on leashes. Highly recommended.
