Shri Bhakta Hanuman Temple

Reviewed By Bhaskar_10 - New Delhi, India

Had Darshan on 19th February 2020 at 13.00pm During our Ramayana Trail tour of Sri Lanka, we had opportunity to visit this divine Temple on our way to Nuwara Eliya from Kandy. The Temple location is 1/2 km off-route to the main road and the climb can be interesting for young people. However due to paucity of time and as advise by our guide we took auto ( 3 people) SLR 400/- to and fro. The Temple approach has about 40-50 high stairs. So groups with senior citizens please be aware. The Temple and its surrounding maintained by Chinmaya Mission, India is serene clean and the beauty is abound. Just in time befor the Temple closure we offered puja as we carried prasad from India and the distributed them among the devotees. A grand statue of Bhagwan Hanuman takes centre stage in the sanctum of the temple. inside the temple there are deities of other God and Goddess. Spend some quality time there and watched the sleeping Hanuman hill from the Temple. Do visit this palace and seek blessings. The Temple complex houses a souvenir shop and a light refreshment place for coffee and package snacks. Photo options are breath-taking. Enjoy Jai Hanuman Ji

You meet the this lake on your way to Ambewala Livestock Farm and the Strawberry Farm. There are boats you Can take a Ride around they Charged us 2000Rs. We were lucky Enough to get onboard the oldes boat Rider on the location with over 28 years of experience, he told us the exciting experience he had in the lake. This lake was the Setting for the 2003 Critically and Commercially successful south Indian Film "Kakkha Kakkha" Directed by Gautham Mennon our boat guy was luckily the, Location coordinator. They had build a Treehouse in the middle of the lake (not available anymore) which has taken around 3months, shooting has lasted 14 Days. Subsequently they had done a Telungu language Remake as well. A boat ride is only worthwhile if you visit on a misty season, I visited Here on a november Day, witch was very much misty we could only see the water. If it's sunny it's like any other lake you see around srilanka nothing special, so this is not a Place to visit in april If you want to see the beauty of the lake I suggest You to watch the Movie. This the a highest freshwater Lake in srilanka, no Motorboats are alloved due to water pollution because this water is supplied to many parts oc the hill country.

Kolapathana Falls

Reviewed By exploreslk - Colombo, Sri Lanka

Kolapathana Falls is a hidden beauty situated on the boundary of Mandaram Nuwara, bordered by Piduruthalagala Mountain range. The waterfall is not that much beautiful, but I am giving it 5 stars just because of the breathtaking trail towards the waterfall. It is around 1km hike (not a hard one). Keep in mind that the waterfall is a drinking water source. So you can't bath at the bottom of the falls. You can bath from the stream below a certain point (the collection point of drinking water). But the water is pretty cold. Parking spaces can be found in the village.

Visited on 20th February 2020 On our way to Nuwara Eliya from Kandy, we had a stopover at this Tea Estate to have a look at the tea manufacturing process and a hot cup of tea. The place is beautiful and the process is knowledgeable. The Cafeteria is very well appointed and takes you back to English Imperial Ruling days. Maintained in its original form this place is a welcome break from the long journey over a cup of tea. You can also buy milk-tea at SLR 120/- and there are pastries and snacks to choose from ranging about SLR 150 to 300/-. Products of the Tea estate are on sale at the souvenir shop. You may have a look and decide accordingly. Do not miss this place on your way to Nuwara Eliya.

Sita Temple

Reviewed By letchumiprabahr - George Town, Malaysia

What else could a simple practising Hindu ask for? Upon arriving at the temple-we were pleasantly welcomed with a special HOMA(special prayers for blessings)- and much to my surprise I was handed the tray with the vastrams (clothes) for Lord Rama and Sita Mata -my little heart was jumping with joy with such a blessing!!! To add to my JOYOUS joy..I was also told that this was the exact place-river where Sita Mata had her bath while on waiting for Lord Rama to rescue her. It was indeed a holiday with a dash of spirituality, history and blessings--what more could I ask for and wish for. Thank you Sita Mata, thank you Lord Rama--for I was indeed blessed to have had the blessings of carrying your vashtrams before they were elegantly dressed on you both. Thank you Thank you Thank you!
