Carapan

Carapan is a Mexican folk art gallery founded in 1950. Since then, it specializes in museum quality folk art pieces for collectors and enthusiasts. If you are looking for a special gift or a piece of art with a fine Mexican taste, this is the right place to visit. It is located at the core of downtown hotel zone in Monterrey, at a 10 minute drive from San Pedro and only a few blocks away from the Cathedral; the Macro Plaza and the Marco museum of contemporary art. A visit to Carapan is a travel trough Mexico´s most important folk art production centers. During your visit you will find a cared selection of textiles, pottery, silver jewelry, wood carvings and more. The gallery is hosted at an old colonial house with a beautiful central patio and 5 surrounding halls. The entrance is free and English, Spanish and French is spoken. I have always loved this store because it only sells the highest quality and authentic pieces from various states throughout Mexico. I have collected several pieces at this store over the years while visiting Monterrey. You won’t regret visiting it.
