This multifaceted outdoor area is great in all seasons but spring and fall are especially nice with lovely flora everywhere. It's fun to wade in the lake on a hot summer day.

I am not easily surprised by distillation processes after 20+ distillery tours, but this one was unexpected. Unique mash bill and distillation system. Best White Dog I have ever tasted. We got to sample some of their small batch experiment new products. Impressed! This is...MoreThanks for the fantastic 5-star review. Great menu of sandwiches, burgers, salads, fixins', and pizza. Full bar with nice selection of regional craft brews. Low-key, friendly service. Nice dining area. Chili, burgers, sandwiches, fries, all very good. Meats roasted in-house. Roast beef is as good as any I have ever eaten. Big portions. Not cheap, but a good value. Check for daily specials. They are creative.

Key City Antiques

Key City Antiques is in an old furniture factory. It offers a bit of everything in its 42,000 square feet from antiques, vintage, local wines, artisan shops, garden items, collectibles, furniture, etc. The aisles are wide and the booths are very well organized and uncluttered. The staff working there are very friendly and welcoming. They have over 120 vendors (and they haven't even fill all the spaces yet). It's definitely worth stopping by even if you have to go a little bit out of the way.

Enjoyed browsing through the museum. Self-guided tour. It took about 1.5 hrs. There were special sections on veterans, history of moonshine and how it played a bit part in Wilkes history and early Wilkes County pioneers. They have a small gift shop. They also offer a guided tour through the old jail and a historical home, all included in the $6.00 admission fee. Interesting and educational.

Saw the open sign as we were passing thru the town so we stopped. The shop was a pleasant surprise. First the antique store was well organized and clean. It looks small from the outside but it's larger than expected and has a downstairs section. While browsing we found lots and lots of signs some original some reproduction. There were books, glassware, knives, furniture, and old money. Race car and baseball collectibles. I found Norman Rockwell pieces, Hardee's collectible Looney tunes glasses, Avon pieces and several of the Ruby red Cape Cod pieces. A number of Morton Salt, Disney, and Coke Cola collectibles. The prices were in my opinion reasonable and competitive with other antique stores I've visited. This was a worthwhile stop that added to our own collection of things.

Call Family Distillers

Reviewed By MZVikkee - Wilkesboro, North Carolina

The Call Family has a long history with Wilkesboro and Wilkes County. This is a place everyone should visit if you live in Wilkes County or visit often. You get a history lesson that they don't teach in school. Plus if you love to take a taste of their moonshine you can. This is not a necessity though. I did enjoy the Strawberry flavored moonshine. It's smooth and nothing like what I'd been taught that moonshine is.
