What to do and see in North Central, South Carolina (SC): The Best Things to do

March 7, 2022 Darleen Reid

Historic Charleston is bursting with Southern charm and hospitality. The city feels a bit like it’s suspended in time, thanks to its antebellum architecture and surrounding plantation landscapes. Take in incredible views of the Battery and the French Quarter as you stroll the Waterfront Park, then become inspired by the cultivated beauty of the gardens at Middleton Place. At night, try a ghost tour for an introduction to the spooky side of the city.

Our tour guide Stephanie was a delight! Yes we learned about the distilling process...but you can google that. The fun part was learning what this particular distillery does different from everyone else! Stephanie was fun and had great stories to tell us about the owners and the distillery. The tasting was great, the alcohol was tasty, and I left with two bottles of Whiskey! All in all, I highly recommend High Wire if you're looking for a distillery tour in Charleston.

Moe's Crosstown Tavern

This is our go-to favorite joint. 1/2 price Tuesday burger night, great rotating beers on tap, homemade chips, sports on TV's, and friendly attentive staff help make this neighborhood institution a gem. Have a craving or just grabbing lunch? You will find yourself returning to try a different menu item. My favs are the Buffalo chicken wrap, crab cake sandwich, and black & blue burger just to name a few. Great food, cold beer, great staff, reasonable prices.
